We are seeking a **_Content Marketing Specialist_** who will play a key part in the marketing and communications team in the Office of Undergraduate Admissions to drive the planning and execution of social and digital media content. This position serves as the primary digital content producer in the office, ensuring content is accurate, compelling to target audiences, and within brand standards. This includes the creation of presentations and other in-house collateral as needed for recruitment and events, with a strong knowledge of graphic design principles. They must exercise strong judgment about content and strategic thinking around placement and execution. They will also demonstrate an analysis-driven approach to strategic and creative recommendations.Reporting to the Associate Director of Communications for Admissions, the _Content Marketing Specialist_ will work with the Office of Undergraduate Admission’s marketing & communications team, administrators, admissions counselors, and other staff to support communication, recruitment, and yield efforts.**Specific Duties & Responsibilities**_Executes the Undergraduate Admissions Office’s social media strategy._+ Manages social media editorial calendar and content creation including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, and Discord.+ Manages marketing and communications-focused student employees and gathers content from additional student content creators to ensure relevant, original, high-quality content.+ Grows social media audience and engagement.+ Serves as a social media expert and stays on top of social media trends and changes to platforms.+ Establishes and monitors benchmarks to track campaign efficacy, measure impact, ensure goals are met, and make recommendations.+ Establishes guidelines for office social media activity.+ Collaborates with broader University social media managers and the Central Office of Communications.+ Monitors public mentions of Johns Hopkins University and brings any opportunities or concerns to the associate director with recommendations._Manages the office’s in-house collateral design._+ Leads presentation updates and design across recruitment and event's needs.+ Supports with graphic design projects as needed._Supports content development and marketing & communications team projects._+ Content development support as needed.+ Participates in planning and brainstorming sessions with stakeholders to ensure that content in all areas remains creative and effective.+ Fact-checking, grammar-checking, and proofreading.+ ensures a consistent look, message, and branding across all communications.**Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**+ Proficiency in Canva, Microsoft 365, especially PowerPoint, and Adobe Creative Suite/Cloud, particularly Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.+ Knowledge of and experience applying graphic design principles to projects.+ Knowledgeable about trends in multimedia storytelling.+ Ability to produce digital content quickly and accurately.+ Ability to utilize design principles to convey complex subject matter visually.+ Demonstrated personal and professional experience with managing social media content.+ Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in creating new content for the web and digital interfaces, while also maintaining a collaborative relationship with other staff and outside vendors.+ Demonstrated abilities as a writer are required, conveying complex subject matter to a general audience.+ Must have a strong and demonstrated background in writing for multiple audiences.+ Must be organized, detail-oriented, and adept at juggling multiple assignments to meet deadlines.+ Must be open to and seek out feedback on creative projects and demonstrate the ability to implement feedback efficiently and effectively.+ Must work well in a fast-paced environment be able to manage multiple high-priority assignments and be comfortable collaborating and taking feedback from different constituents across campus.+ Understand the importance of effective communications and be eager to fully understand the admissions cycle as well as best marketing practices in higher education.+ Communicate well with technical staff and other members of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions team._Additional Information_+ Work samples will be requested.**Minimum Qualifications**+ Bachelor’s Degree in related field.+ Two years of related experience.+ Advanced degree may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.**Preferred Qualifications**+ Four years of related experience in a marketing role.+ Experience in a higher education setting is a plus.Classified Title: Communications SpecialistJob Posting Title (Working Title): Content Marketing SpecialistRole/Level/Range: ATP/03/PBStarting Salary Range: $45,700 - $80,000 Annually (Commensurate with experience)Employee group: Full TimeSchedule: Mon - Fri / 08:30am - 05:00pmExempt Status: ExemptLocation: Hybrid/Homewood CampusDepartment name: ​​​​​​​Undergraduate AdmissionsPersonnel area: University Student ServicesEqual Opportunity Employer:Johns Hopkins University is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, religion, age, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, disability, marital status, veteran status, or any other occupationally irrelevant criteria.
