WCVB-TV, the ABC affiliate in Boston, MA, is looking for a well-rounded full-time Digital Content Producer who will create content for its website, mobile products, and social media platforms. You must be an excellent storyteller who can edit and create content facing intense competition under constant deadline pressure. Breaking news, weather and professional sports are huge in our area, and our digital producer must know how to maximize it all, while accomplishing daily strategic responsibilities. The right candidate will have a track record of both working cooperatively with a team and managing content priorities during a solo shift. Experience with video, photo and interactive content preferred. You will report to the Digital Content Manager. 

Responsibilities

  • Write/edit and publish breaking news and weather, daily news, sports and feature stories for our station website, and other social media platforms
  • Write compelling headlines, especially for mobile and social media, and carefully create mobile push notifications for breaking news/severe weather
  • Work with Reporters, Television Producers and Assignment Editors to ensure content is posted accurately and quickly
  • Work with Television Producers, Assignment Editors and Managers to ensure cross-promotion of content across all platforms
  • Develop multimedia special projects
  • Manage LIVE streams of newscasts and breaking news
  • Contribute ideas to help grow our station's digital platforms

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in a professional television newsroom or web-publishing environment
  • Compelling news and editorial judgment
  • Excellent AP-style writing and editing skills
  • Basic or advanced knowledge of video and photo editing
  • Experience with social media best practices
  • Creative presentation skills
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure while managing multiple tasks
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights and weekends), including holidays, to cover a 24-hour news cycle
  • Work well in an environment with frequent interruptions
  • Related military experience will be considered
  • In-person attendance is required
