Our San Antonio Power Services team has an immediate need for a Distribution Designer. In this role, you will perform project related work in the utilities industry designing and planning power distribution facilities.
What you will do:
Design overhead and underground electric and gas projects using engineering software.Create construction cost estimates.Gather information from GIS, maps, google maps, and google earth for any assigned projects.Determine fuse size and coordination.Investigate project needs and provide solutions to complete the assigned project.Create tree trimming sketches and Right-of-Way requirement estimates.Field check assigned projects.Stake projects.Issue Survey & Staking request to crews and when needed stake minor projects on your own.Create Work Orders and review materials list for project.Perform analysis of design to determine structural integrity.Job Requirements

You have good computer literacy and are not afraid to learn new programs and skills. You are a good communicator who not only has oral and written skills but are also an excellent listener with above average comprehension. Mathematics comes naturally to you and is used for problem-solving and analysis. You are a critical thinker who can apply knowledge to new assignments and uses critical thinking to bring everything together. You also excel in time management and may have developed these and other skills in an administrative or technical setting.
What you bring:
7-10 years of experience with CPS EnergyGas Design preferred in GISUnderground Design in GIS7 to 10 years' experience working in a related field preferred.Proficiency in using various computer software packages.Knowledge of CPS Energy - Electric Overhead and underground standards.Self-starter, results-oriented, and able to work under tight deadlines.Must have CPS Energy's Valid GIS electric, gas/underground credentials.In lieu of degree, work history and experience will be considered for equivalent requirements.
