Under the direction and in collaboration with the Lead Interior Designer, design and maintain a professional and inspiring learning environment for students, staff, and faculty at all College sites. Coordinate with the College Architect and outside architectural firms on new buildings and remodel projects to ensure college standards are met. Support project managers regarding furnishings, floor coverings, wall treatments and building finishes. Help coordinate purchasing, delivery, and installation of items as required. In coordination with the College Planning & Design team, assess space needs, space assignments, remodels, and refreshes to ensure end-user needs are met in accordance with College standards. Meet with customers to answer questions concerning working environments and needed changes, including accommodations. Provide solutions, furniture layouts, drawings, and cost estimates for interior design purchases. Maintain a samples library and finishes archive. Maintain and develop relationships with furniture vendors. Keep informed of products and trends. In coordination with the Furniture & Moving Coordinator assess condition of existing furniture inventory and reuse furniture when available and appropriate. Under direction of Lead Interior Designer and in collaboration with Design Project Manager, collaborate on carpet, roller shades, and furniture repairs and requests. Maintain an inventory of carpet for repairs. With direction from the Lead Interior Designer, work with the Design Project Manager, and Construction Project Managers to oversee layout, purchases, and installations of furniture and related items. Understand current pedagogical trends and ADA requirements.
