Position Summary:

Responsible for assisting with the development, implementation and coordination of activities to promote and support AHFC's programs, with emphasis on home financing including, but not limited to, home buyer education, single and multi-family lending programs and AHFC specific loan options.

Position may require occasional in-state travel, and, occasional evening and weekend assignments.

Reports to: MORTGAGE OPERATIONS DIRECTOR OR DESIGNEE

OVERVIEW

Effectively assist in the development, implementation, maintaining, and instructing homebuyer education workshops, statewide outreach, marketing, and training seminars tailored to meet the educational needs of real estate professionals, mortgage lenders, condo associations and builders.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Exempt, non-supervisory position.

Examples of Duties

Develop, implement and instruct homebuyer education, via face-to-face and online, workshops to potential borrowers, including the HomeChoice class offered in communities statewide.

Develop, implement and maintain statewide outreach to advocate and promote the AHFC's various lending programs.

Develop, coordinate and deliver training seminars tailored to meet the educational needs of homeowners, homebuyers, real estate professionals, mortgage lenders, condo associations and builders.

Design and deliver internal outreach presentations to AHFC employees.

Schedule classes and outreach activities.

Research and develop hard copy and virtual articles for public distribution.

Deploy a wide variety of adult training methods.

Identify, collect, clean, analyze and interpret data sets collected from multiple sources for presentation in a dashboard and reports to management.

Work collaboratively in AHFC cross-functional teams to deliver high quality work.

Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with various entities & industry groups throughout the state.

May include limited travel to communities to conduct outreach and educational seminars.

Coordinate the effective marketing of events with applicable intra-AHFC departments and distribution outlets.

Ensure consistency of information and design associated with AHFC branding requirements.

Represent AHFC at home and trade shows.

Create online reference and handout materials.

Collect and evaluate information concerning the various housing needs of the state.

Proactive research and monitoring for program, regulatory and market changes.

Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Basic knowledge of:

AHFC's programs and activities; federal loan programs; statewide housing needs and issues; the real estate, lending and building industry and its applications; fundamental principles of mortgage and non-mortgage lending; loan servicing; and appraisal methods and procedures, public relations and marketing; among others.

Skills and Abilities : Apply adult learning methods, business development strategies; time management; written and oral communications, including public speaking; hard copy and electronic record keeping prowess; proficiency in MS Office Suite, online meeting tools, Adobe Suite, web generated databases and data visualization tools.

Abilities:

Speak effectively; plan, organize and manage workflow; compile, analyze and evaluate data; work independently with little direct supervision; develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, as well as public and private sectors. Must be willing to occasionally travel in Alaska, and work evenings and weekends.

Minimum Qualifications

:

Outreach Specialist I:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in communications, finance, business or a closely related field and one year's experience affiliated with: commercial or construction real estate lending; mortgage underwriting, processing, origination, servicing; or real estate development or sales; or training and development; or the AHFC Outreach Specialist Trainee.

Outreach Specialist II:

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in communications, finance, business or a closely related field and three years' experience affiliated with: commercial or construction real estate lending; mortgage processing, underwriting, origination, servicing; or real estate development or sales; or training and development.

Substitution:

Appropriate work experience may be substituted for the required education on a year for year basis.
