Your Role

As a Senior Interior Designer with Gensler Houston's Cities studio, you are passionate about your craft and combine creativity and technical knowledge with business skills and understanding to produce functionally beautiful spaces for clients in the Education, Culture + Museums, and Sciences Practice Areas . You have exceptional conceptual design skills, a background in interiors or design, and a portfolio of innovative design concepts. It's your job to contribute to a team of designers to deliver unparalleled projects.

What You Will DoTeam leader of interior design projects that include programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning and construction documentationEngage in marketing and business development effortsParticipate in the selection and presentation of furniture, furniture systems, fabrics, equipment (FF&E), color palettes, and lightingGenerate finish plans, specifications, and material selections needed for constructionProvide design support and documentation during the completion and execution of design conceptsWork with external consultants, product representatives, furniture dealers, and fabricatorsIntegrate new technology and tools on projects (AR, VR, computational design, etc.)Foster and cultivate a culture of design of the office and strive to elevate design quality on projects. Inspires and mentors teams.Your Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Interior DesignNCIDQ/CID required10+ years

of interior design experience requiredDemonstrated success in Education, Culture, Sciences, or Healthcare preferredComfortable in Revit, SketchUp, 3D Studio Max and other modeling software programsProficient in Adobe Creative Suite applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)Knowledge of furniture, finishes, materials, color selections, and specificationsGraphics and visualization skills to effectively communicate design ideasDemonstrated commitment to sustainability and sustainable building practices; Portfolios should include at least one project (especially built projects with LEED, Living Building Challenge, WELL Building Standard, Fitwel, and/or Net Zero Building certification) with this particular focus, which we look forward to discussing during the interview
