Interior Design - Senior Designer
Studio K is an award winning Chicago based interior design firm with an exciting portfolio of projects ranging from restaurants, bars and hotels to luxury student housing. We are seeking design professionals to join our expanding team of collaborative designers. The ideal candidate will be hardworking, self-motivated, creative, and have a positive attitude. We expect candidates to hit the ground running, with the ability to manage a wide range of projects simultaneously from concept through completion.
The Role
Brand Ambassador: represents Studio K on a daily basisAttends industry events and keeps their eyes and ears openRuns and oversees projectsAbility to run client meetings on the flyOversees and manages multiple large scale projects all at onceQuick problem solver and ability to think on your feetTrain and mentor design teamCoordinate with client, GC, and architectDraft RFPs and Project ContractsKeep an eye on all staff and step in when neededPerform weekly check-ins with team membersConduct interviews with potential team membersConduct annual reviews with team membersQualifications & Skills
Interior Design Degree8+ years interior design work experience - hospitality requiredExcellent AutoCAD & Adobe Creative Suite Skills. Photoshop and InDesign a must. SketchUp and Illustrator a plus.Exceptional vendor management and communication (written/verbal) skillsAbility to confidently and clearly communicate design to clientsProficient in all phases of design from concept through construction administrationProficient in working with and sourcing architectural materials/finishes and FF&EProficient in construction drawing, documentation and oversightOversee and manage a team of designers across multiple projectsPerks & Benefits
