We are seeking an ambitious and energetic Interior Designer III with a minimum of 10 years of experience to join our Philadelphia office.

The Interior Designer III position entails leading the interior design effort of large and small-scale projects and supervising supporting interior designers. The Interior Designer III has obtained and is maintaining their NCIDQ or Architectural certification. The designer is responsible for developing conceptual design and evolving these concepts in the detailing of interior architectural elements and selection of finish materials and furnishings; the designer will be mentoring other designers in this work. This position coordinates its work with other disciplines in the production of drawings and construction documents which fulfill the design concept, meet the client's expectations and the firm's goals of design excellence, financial viability and quality service. The Interior Design III position receives technical, budgetary, managerial, and design guidance on critical issues, new concepts and policy requirements.

Essential Functions: Schematic Design and Design Development Conduct / verify programming with clients (as required by project type). Work with the project manager and the architectural project designer in creating interior environments which serve the client's needs and responds to their desired spatial, image and aesthetic requirements. Develop code compliant designs. Develop schematic fundamental design reports. Select appropriate finish materials and furnishings. Prepare furniture budgets. Develop presentation materials including 3D renderings. Lead interior design presentations to the client. Lead the projects' in-house design review presentations. Collaborate with lighting designer to develop lighting concepts and initial fixture selection. Coordinate work with other disciplines. Supervise and mentor less experienced designers in above tasks. Construction Documents Work with the architectural lead designer and develop the design principles that help govern the detailing phase of the project. Execute and enhance the design intent while preparing the construction documents. Design and develop interior architectural and millwork detailing. Work with the engineering disciplines and architecture to ensure a consistent development of the project towards the design concepts established in earlier phases. Develop project and furniture specifications and other technical requirements of projects. Supervise and mentor less experienced designers in above tasks. Construction Administration Participate in submittal responses, shop drawing review and construction site visits. Prepare interiors and furniture punch lists. Work with the technical team in preparing construction phase design directives. Supervise and mentor less experienced designers in above tasks. Marketing Create design documents and presentation materials with market segment leaders and with the assistance of the marketing department. Prepare fees for proposals. Participate in interviews for potential project work. Departmental Tasks Supervise and mentor less experienced designers. Assist in the development and maintenance of presentation and documentation standards. Participate in the quality assurance process for documentation. Required Education and Experience: Bachelor of Fine Arts or Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Interior Architecture or Architecture 10+ years of experience in interior design with emphasis on a specialized area (i.e. healthcare, academics, science and technology, commercial etc.) NICDQ Certifi d Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite and 3D modeling software (Sketch up or Rhino) Excellent conceptual skills and thorough understanding of interior architecture Polished skills in client design visioning sessions and presentations Complete knowledge of interior architecture detailing Comprehensive understanding of finish materials and their application in a variety of project types Significant experience in delegating work and mentoring less experienced interior designers Preferred Education and Experience: Comprehensive understanding of sustainable design concepts and experience with LEED (or other rating system) documentation Benefits of Working at EwingCole Generous paid time off, 401(k) plan with company match, tuition reimbursement, flexible/hybrid work options, paid parental leave, excellent insurance offerings including medical, dental, vision, accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, identity protection and more.
