Selectek is looking for a Mechanical Designer  north of Charlotte, NC area.
Required:
Associate / 2-year Degree in design / drafting from an accredited college or University. Minimum of 2-5 years of experience Knowledge of piping and skid system design including ASME B31.3, ASME BPVC sections II / V / VIII / IX and Crane 410. Knowledge of 2D and 3D model development using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Plant 3D Proficient at generating skid system manufacturing/fabrication drawings. Understanding weld symbols for inclusion on fabrication drawings Â

Experience of piping and frame analysis (using commercially available software) Experience of mechanical piping systems and product design by applying principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, fluid / sludge flow and materials Experience creating manufacturing packages including datasheets, drawings, and manufacturing specifications. Experience overseeing vendor fabrication activities and management of component procurement activities. Understanding of weld symbols for inclusion on fabrication drawings Understanding of material requirements for piping and structural systems Adaptable and flexible to changes in strategy. Capability to work with project managers to develop and maintain schedules.
Job order details: The successful candidate will work with a team of mechanical engineers / drafters to develop complex process piping systems from blank paper through fabrication and delivery to site. They will perform engineering calculations, design piping systems and size our proprietary Power Fluidic components. They will work with designers to produce 3D system models and 2D manufacturing drawings. They will create reports and technical documentation detailing system design parameters and results of pipe analysis and calculations. They will also provide technical guidance, direction and collaborate with other personnel, suppliers, fabricators, and customers.
