Galvanize USAPosition Title: Digital Content ManagerLocation: RemoteReports to: Director of ProgramsHours per week (average): 40Overtime Status: ExemptPosition SummaryAs Digital Content Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing programming for our audience of Galvanize Together subscribers by researching, drafting, and designing content across platforms. Galvanize Together is a quickly-growing subscriber community of women from across America, eager for support, connection, and a voice of reason as we navigate life’s complex challenges together. In order to sustain our audience’s appetite for content like the “Dear Grace” advice column, we’re looking for a Digital Content Manager to generate content, manage various channels of user interaction, and offer strategic insight to improve performance and best serve our subscribers.This job is right for you if you’re passionate about using your creative talents to help drive positive change towards an America that works better for everyone. And you’re excited about working with a team of kind, passionate humans as we seek to protect our fundamental rights and preserve our democracy.Responsibilities and TasksContent Creation:Draft compelling and relevant advice columns for the “Dear Grace” online advice column, providing guidance to audience questions on relationships, self esteem, aging, parenting, family dynamics and other issues relevant to women, and matching the tone and voice of the established Dear Grace brandSupport helpful, factual advice from “Grace” by researching reader-submitted topics and working with volunteer subject matter expertsWrite additional program content including blogs, quizzes, text messages to subscribers, and social media posts.Create visually appealing graphics to complement written contentPlatform Management:Manage content across all platforms, including Wordpress and social media platforms, with responsibilities including posting, scheduling, tagging, drafting social media copy, and supporting with comment moderation as necessary.Support research into new channels and creative opportunities for women-focused content, and make strategic recommendations to leadership on the long-term growth of the program by leveraging audience insights, external research and understanding of online trendsAct as team’s in-house expert on social media and user engagementStrategic Insight and Collaboration:Work with and across teams and vendors to maintain high quality, research-informed content and foster a strong user experience for subscribers and align content with best practicesManage incoming messages and data from subscribers, synthesizing key themes and insights to support content creationWork with data team members to track and evaluate the effectiveness of content strategies, making adjustments as needed to optimize performance and meet goalsAdditional Duties:All employees of Hopewell Fund are required to complete timesheets every two weeksEngage in other relevant tasks as required.QualificationsEducation and Experience:2-4 years working in digital media, communications, marketing, or similar creative roleBachelor’s degree or equivalent experience and trainingKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Strong writing skills, preferably across multiple media (script, web/social media, editorial columns)Exceptional proofreading skillsExperience understanding and improving digital user experience or digital community management, ideally with exposure to a subscription or community funnelSocial media and web tool management, including scheduling, optimizations to drive engagement, and tracking new trendsExperience managing vendor and stakeholder relationshipsExperience applying data and qualitative research to make program recommendationsSEO experienceCan work well in a remote team and is able to manage and collaborate with staff at all levels and consultantsCommitment to understanding race, class, gender, and other equity issues as part of your work as well as the impact these structural issues have on our collective work environmentOccasional travel (in-person retreats, ~1-3 times per year)Strong organizational, time management, and project management skillsCandidates must be authorized to work in the US. The responsibilities under that position would be overseen by Sixteen Thirty Fund. Galvanize Action identifies, engages, and moves moderate women in rural, small town, and suburban America to reliably vote for progress. To learn more visit galvanizeaction.org.Compensation & BenefitsThe starting salary range for this position is $75,000-$83,000. Placement within this band will be determined based on years of prior experience and relevant skills. Galvanize USA also offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 100% employer-paid health, dental, and vision insurance for employees (and their families). Employees are able to enroll in the 401k retirement plan and are eligible for a 3% automatic contribution and up to a 3% employer match on 401k contributions. Employees are also eligible for pre-tax transportation benefits. Employees will receive 120 hours of vacation time, 80 hours of health leave, up to 2 days of casual leave, and 20 hours of volunteer leave annually. Employees will also receive 13 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
