Description

The Brand Experience & Marketing Communications Specialist (BEMCS) role is the content strategist and lead creator. The BEMCS leverages external facing channels, storytelling (visual and written), and in-person events to promote and educate customers about OGC with a consistent voice for our brand and community.

This role works a hybrid schedule with at least 3 onsite days required in our Portland facility.

Acts as produce expert and primary liaison to OGC Buyers, the Senior Sales Manager and Account Representative.Manages the development of any grower only facing assets.Ensures marketing efforts are infused with thoughtful, impactful stories and content that are aligned with the brand, achieve creative excellence, and are providing exceptional experiences to engage, build trust and grow OGC audiences.Research and stay current on the organic produce and food landscape, trends and opportunities to serve the business.Creates and maintains the editorial calendar for written and creative content.Collaborates with coworkers and suppliers to produce story content including field reporting.Closely collaborates with the Brand Marketing Graphic Designer and Digital Brand Marketing Specialist to develop photo and video assets and bring stories to life across digital channels and for event execution support.Writes and edits content and visuals for produce campaigns, weekly e-newsletters, blogs, sales materials, flash sales, weekly pricing sheets, website, quarterly updates and more including story collaboration with digital lead and other marketing team members.Contributes to Marketing Communications Strategy and Annual Plan with VP and Communications Manager.Supports customer-facing events, farm tours, trade shows, and demos, collaborating with Sales leadership and Marketing to align on vision, strategy and goals. Manage or co-manage the development and production of supporting marketing materials to bring these events to life, including budget and timeline management.Supports promotion of the Farm to School fruit program , in collaboration with Communications Manager and sales/sourcing team.Manages other special projects, as needed.Supports OGC sustainability goals and actively works to reduce environmental impact.Requirements

4-6+ years of copywriting in brand tone for a variety of audiences; an understanding of B2B comms needs for our retail produce buyer audience, food/agriculture writing experience preferred, and a true passion for brand and educational storytelling.Experience representing a brand and products in the field.Experience managing and executing mid-sized sales and marketing events.Creative project management, event, content and campaign planning and organization, including creative visioning and collaboration with a team on execution to deliver on strategic goals within scope, budget and timeline.Highly organized and detail orientated.Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.Strong writing and editing skills and familiarity, with basic proofreading marks.Has an eye for appropriate language and references regarding food/ag trends and issues within the industry.Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of content management systems.Excellent team player who thrives brainstorming in groups and appreciates working collaboratively and independently.Must be flexible to support OGC business needs and mission. May be assigned projects and/or other duties outside of normal job functions to meet the needs and demands of the business.Knowledge of organic produce is desired.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone, in person and on a computer. Requires the ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Requires the ability to travel and occasional overnight travel. Standing, stooping, and bending are required. Ability to meet the above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Salary Description

$65,000-$75,000
