Learn more about our commitments to Inclusion & Diversity here.Assistant Designer, Women's Cut & Sew Knits - Calvin Klein**Position summary:**As an Assistant Designer, you will play a vital role in helping to craft captivating and groundbreaking C&S Knits collections for women. Your responsibilities will involve assisting in the design process, conducting research, and aiding in the development of C&S designs that align with the brand's vision and market trends. You will collaborate with tother designers, gain valuable experience, and aid in our brand's success in the category.In this position, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow as a designer. If you are a fashion enthusiast with a flair for design and a desire to join a dynamic design team, we encourage you to apply and participate in our innovative strategy in the fashion industry.**Primary responsibilities/accountabilities of the job:**Responsibilities:**Research and Inspiration:**+ Assist in conducting research on fashion trends, fabrications, trims, branding ideas and construction details relevant to women's C&S Knits.**Design Development:**+ Collaborate with partners to create sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings for the product category.+ Give ideas and designs to help shape the overall direction of for the collection which will include tops, bottoms, dresses and 2nd layer.**Material and Trim Selection:**+ Assist in sourcing and selecting appropriate fabrics, trims, and embellishments for dress prototypes and production.+ Work closely with suppliers and product developers to ensure material availability and quality.**Tech Pack Creation:**+ Support the team in crafting detailed tech packs / BOMs and design specifications for C&S Knits proto samples, SMS and production.**Sample Review and Fit Sessions:**+ Participate in sample reviews and fittings to help assist take fit notes, update construction technical sketches as needed, and ensure design details meet as original design intention.**Collaboration and Communication:**+ Partner with cross-functional teams, including product developers and merchandisers, to ensure detailed execution.**Brand Alignment:**+ Understand and maintain Calvin Klein's design aesthetic and language in all womens C&S Knit products.+ Collaborate with designers & the brand team to ensure consistency in storytelling and branding.**Trend Presentation:**+ Assist in preparing trend presentations and mood boards to kick off and advise the design lifecycle.**Qualifications & experience:****Experience:** 1+ years of related apparel design experience**Education:** Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience**Skills:**+ Must have working technical garment construction knowledge.+ Maintain organized design archives and sample inventory+ Aesthetically keen eye for color, fabric, and style.+ Proficient in Hand / illustrator sketching.+ Strong digital literacy. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
