**28113BR****Job Title:**Digital Media Coordinator**Department:**Success Initiatives**Primary Campus:**University of Kansas Lawrence Campus**Job Description:****30% Graphic Design and Social Media Coordination**+ Generates design ideas and creates print and digital materials by request of Academic Success units.+ Oversees Academic Success social media channels, including developing and implementing channel strategies, designing social media content, maintaining social editorial calendar, and managing postings.+ Generates ideas, writes, and edits content for print and digital materials and distributes materials or content that facilitate the communication strategies of Academic Success.+ Coordinates and programs Academic Success Digital Signage with IT.+ Works with KU-approved vendors to source and order custom promotional products for Academic Success units that cater to the preferences of current college students and drive strategic student calls-to-action.+ Executes email campaigns through university enterprise communication systems as needed. Works collaboratively with other communicators in Academic Success with similar email communication responsibilities.**30% Project Management and Strategic Planning**+ Manages the Academic Success work request workflow, assures all projects are assigned and deadline met or negotiated with clients.+ Creates and manages Academic Success events calendar. Plans the work of student workers around these events and priorities.+ Coordinates Academic Success poster communication strategy on campus.+ Tracks social media analytics and results of email marketing campaigns, evaluates performance and adjusts to improve results.+ Assists with event sponsorships (specifically with the University Career Center), including creating graphics for social media, drafting email text, creating website content, and reporting sponsorship analytics (sponsored social media and email marketing).+ Stays current on trends in communications and marketing on college campuses.+ Contributes to the Academic Success Operations & Technologies Strategic Priorities, metrics, and annual goals.+ Connects with Academic Success Leadership Team to ensure strategic coverage of the marketing materials and resources necessary to promote programs and services to students and relevant stakeholders.**30% Student Supervision**+ Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates student hourly employees.+ Coordinates work schedules, complies with work-study requirements when applicable, and assures that student projects are executed according to standard.+ Coordinates students who assist with taking photographs and/or video at Academic Success Events. Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or related field.2. Three (3) years of related professional (full-time) experience.3. Detailed knowledge of the business processes and business needs of academic success offices.**Position Overview:****Position Overview:**The Academic Success Digital Media Coordinator works directly with the technologies, systems, and processes that support the unit's digital marketing and graphic design, branding, and student engagement needs. This individual serves as the creative subject matter expert, providing graphic design for print and digital distribution, social media optimization and campaigns, photography, and other student-facing communication strategies across the unit. The Coordinator supervises a team of hourly student graphic designers, social media specialists, and photo/video specialists and serves to coordinate their projects and educate them on digital media practices and trends. The Coordinator reports to the Director of Academic Success Operations and works collaboratively with the Academic Success Leadership Team to meet the communication outcomes of the unit.Academic Success Operations & Technology is part of Academic Success in the division of Academic Affairs at KU, along with the Hawk Link, the Military-Affiliated Student Center, Leavenworth Academic and Student Support, and Academic Success Navigators.**Unit Overview**Academic Success (u.edu/) advocates for and strategically advances education at the University of Kansas. We work with students from orientation to graduation, providing them with high-quality, data-driven academic and career advising, targeted academic support systems and networks, and empowering and engaging experiential learning.
