Sanford Federal, Inc. is looking to hire a General Protestant Musician/Organist.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:·Coordinate with the Pastor to select instrumental music and songs for worship services, including preludes, postludes, congregational singing, anthems, and service music. ·Plan instrumental music for regular and special services, ensuring arrangements are provided four weeks in advance. ·Provide instrumentation for all regular and special services, even on short notice. ·Supply instruments other than organs and pianos required for worship. ·Accompany soloists for scheduled Protestant Chapel weddings, with fees determined by the wedding couple.EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS • Minimum of 5 years of current experience as an organist in a military chapel or civilian church. • Certified by the American Guild of Organists (AGO) at the basic level. • Formal training in organ. This training may have been in the form of college courses.SKILLS REQUIREMENTS • Proficient in music harmonization. • Demonstrated proficiency in sight reading hymns from the Armed Forces Hymnal (AFH). • Possessing vocal skills to include the ability to sing on key and to be able to recognize a basic melody from musical text. • Having a basic familiarity with religious music and be familiar with at least two (2) liturgical music resource-publishing companies.
