The ideal candidate will support business analysis and data analysis that will be used to develop a strategic plan for the development and enhancements of the external website.
Responsibilities
• In depth experience with Web development and knowledge/hands-on experience with Django, including Django models, views, templates, and the Django ORM (object-Relational Mapping)
• Expertise in using Wagtail CMS for content management and development of dynamic web applications.
• Strong proficiency in Python programming language, with a focus on building scalable and maintainable web applications.
• Ability to develop and integrate Web Service APIs; RESTful APIS (Django REST framework)
• Ability to work with front end frameworks/libraries like React, Vue.js, or Angular
• Work with databases, particularly Django-supported databases like PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQLite, as well as Oracle DB.
• Experience with DevOps practices and deployment tools for hosting Django applications in production environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure)
• Ability to follow web application security best practices and experience implementing security measures in Django applications.
• Ability to optimize the performance of web applications through techniques such as caching, code optimization, and database tuning.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and the ability to work in an Agile/Scrum environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, other developers, and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex issues and come up with effective solutions.
Experience/Education
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field is typically preferred.
• 5-8 years of experience as a web programmer, web developer, or other relevant role; a significant portion of that time dedicated to Python and Django development.
• Experience with Web application technologies, such as HTML5, JavaScript or CSS, Python, Wagtail
• Familiarity with JavaScript Libraries/Frameworks
• Experience with Wagtail templating; understand how to create and customize templates
• Experience with Wagtail content modeling system; administration, hooks and signals, version control Tools/Technology Experience
