Education:

Bachelor's Degree in English, Journalism (Technical Writer), History, Political Science, or comparable skills

Experience:

3-5 years of experience working as a grant writer with demonstrated expertise leading and developing grant applications in response to State and Federal funding opportunities.

Critical Action Items:

• Collaborate with teammates and subject matter experts to develop compliant and compelling proposal content in response to federal and state/local solicitations.• Partner with Executive Director(s) to identify new funding opportunities.• Develop original proposal content, including the executive summary, technical solution, management approach, personnel résumés, and past performance volumes.• Analyze the requirements within requests for proposals, statements of work, or performance work statements; tailor existing content or develop new content to align with requirements and evaluation criteria.• Develop annotated outlines and collaborate with the broader team to design win themes, compelling content, and key discriminators for multiple simultaneous grant submissions.• Prepare compelling and compliant content for each stage of the proposal review lifecycle (e.g., Pink Team, Red Team, Gold Team) and incorporate feedback from review teams as appropriate to enhance the quality of proposal submissions.• Display a strong understanding of editorial best practices and familiarity with common industry style guides.• Edit proposal content emphasizing consistent grammar, punctuation, and syntax use and perform "one voice" edits on content contributed by other writers and subject matter experts.• Thoroughly proofread all content during the final production stage (e.g., White Glove).• Skilled in writing proposal narratives that follow a feature, benefit, proof format to maximize scoring during government evaluation.• Develop and maintain master files on grants and contracts applied for and awarded. Maintain and update library of reference documents for grant and contract submission.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Attend all mandated trainings and conferences.2. Travel to offices as needed to meet with Program Directors3. Perform other job duties as assigned.

Requirements:1. Knowledge of the business development life cycle and proposal operations.2. Knowledge of U.S. government procurement practices.3. Highly collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, creative, and inquisitive, able to work in a fast and dynamic BD environment with many stakeholders.4. Ability and willingness to work independently and as part of a team; ability to interview and collaborate with SMEs to extract information and convert it into effective proposal content per solicitation requirements.5. Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced team environment while maintaining multiple assignments and adapting to changing priorities.6. Experience writing clear, logical, and persuasive responses on various technical and non-technical topics.7. Strong writing and editing skills, including grammar and punctuation.8. Proficiency in software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.9. Critical thinking, research, and analysis skills.10. Anticipated travel of 10%11. Valid state driver's license with a clear driving record.12. Clear criminal background check.
