Santa Monica Studio is seeking a Senior UI Artist for the development of a new unannounced title! In this role, you will collaborate with engineers, artists, and designers to develop and integrate 2D UI for our award-winning team.

Your contribution will be pivotal in creating a beautiful, intuitive user experience. Ideal candidates will possess both creative and technical skills, demonstrate strong 2D illustration abilities, have experience in UI art, wireframing, graphic design, and game engine integration, and show a passion for quality UX. Join us in creating legendary games with PlayStation.ResponsibilitiesContribute to the artistic direction of the UI art style through concept exploration, creating 2D UI mockups based on existing wireframes or designs for game mechanics and featuresCreate 2D supporting graphics such as icons which communicate key information and help illustrate the game's interfaceSupport in the UX process by designing wireframes based on feature specifications from other departments like Combat and Game DesignWork independently to support and enhance the creative vision of the Game Director, Art Director, and UI/UX Lead, delivering clarity and visual quality within technological constraintsAdvance the capabilities and efficiencies of UI design and implementationWork with Production to set project level UI goals and schedule expectationsCollaborate and mentor individuals with less UI experienceRequirementsStrong 2D illustration and graphic design skillsStrong User Experience knowledge with wireframing experienceProfessional experience with game engine integration5+ years of experience in User Interface artwork on at least two recent AAA titlesAvailable to work within Pacific Time core hoursHigh proficiency in Photoshop, Figma, and Adobe Illustrator or similar toolsPreferred ExperienceExcellent communication and collaboration skillsExpertise in 2D animation techniquesFamiliarity with scripting languages like Python and MEL ScriptNode-based shader editor experienceProficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Maya, SlackFamiliarity with version control systems, specifically Perforce
