Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.The Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Knowledgebase Content Developer is responsible for creating, managing, and optimizing content focused on addressing the financial impact of MS to support learning and knowledge dissemination. Key tasks include developing high-quality educational materials such as articles, tutorials, and multimedia elements, and regularly updating and organizing content for accuracy and accessibility. They conduct thorough research, stay current with Multiple Sclerosis trends, and tailor content to the needs and preferences of the target audience to enhance user engagement. Proficiency in using CMS platforms and implementing SEO best practices ensures content discoverability. Relationship management and collaboration with stakeholders, maintaining quality through proofreading and adherence to standards, and using analytics to monitor and improve content performance are essential. They design materials with clear and actionable objectives, provide user support, ensure compliance with copyright and accessibility standards, and manage multiple projects efficiently. Through these responsibilities, they create valuable and effective educational resources for people affected by MS and for staff to use in sharing information with constituents.

Essential Functions / ResponsibilityDevelop and manage web & knowledgebase content that is understandable, actionable, engaging, and relevant to a diverse MS community at different stages of their journey with MS with a focus on addressing the financial impact of MS.Content CreationDevelop Educational Materials: Create high-quality, engaging, and informative content such as articles, tutorials, courses, FAQs, and how-to guides.Multimedia Integration: Develop or source multimedia elements like images, videos, infographics, and interactive content to enhance learning materials.Content ManagementUpdate and Maintain Content: Regularly update and revise content to ensure accuracy, relevance, and alignment with current educational standards and practices.Content Organization: Organize content logically and intuitively, making it easy for users to find and access information.Research and Information GatheringConduct Research: Perform thorough research to gather accurate and reliable information for content creation.Stay Current: Keep up with the latest trends, developments, and best practices in education and the specific subject matter.Audience Understanding and EngagementIdentify Audience Needs: Understand the target audience's needs, learning styles, and preferences to tailor content accordingly.Engage Users: Create interactive and engaging content that encourages user participation and enhances the learning experience.Technical ProficiencyUtilize CMS Platforms: Proficiently use content management systems (CMS) to publish, manage, and update content.SEO and Optimization: Implement SEO best practices to ensure content is discoverable and ranks well in search engines.Collaboration and CommunicationWork with Stakeholders: Collaborate with cross functional teams, subject matter experts, web designers, and other stakeholders to develop and refine content.Feedback Incorporation: Actively seek and incorporate feedback from users and stakeholders to improve content quality and effectiveness.Advocate for and support a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.Quality AssuranceProofread and Edit: Ensure all content is free from errors and maintains high standards of quality and clarity.Consistency and Standards: Adhere to style guides, branding guidelines, and educational standards to maintain consistency across all content.Analytics and ImprovementMonitor Performance: Use analytics tools to track content performance, user engagement, and other key metrics.Reporting: Regularly present trends and learnings that inform efforts forward.Continuous Improvement: Based on analytics and user feedback, continuously improve, and optimize content for better user experience and learning outcomes.Technical Support and TroubleshootingUser Assistance: Provide support to users who encounter issues with accessing or using the content.Technical Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve technical issues related to content display, access, and functionality.Ethical and Legal ComplianceCopyright and Licensing: Ensure all content complies with copyright laws and licensing agreements.Accessibility Standards: Develop content that adheres to accessibility standards, making it usable for individuals with disabilities, applying health literacy principles and tools.Risk management: Ensure risk management policies are addressed in content creation.Project ManagementPlan and Prioritize: Plan, prioritize, and manage multiple content projects to meet deadlines and deliverables.Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of content creation processes, updates, and revisions.Develop and manage strategic relationships and partnerships in support of educational content that addresses the financial impact of MSIdentify, develop, and manage a portfolio of relationships, partnerships, collaborators (informal and formal partners, memorandums of understanding, contracts etc.) that help expand the impact and reach of the Society's educational content efforts.Work effectively with the legal team to ensure memorandums of understanding and contracts developed are aligned with Society's risk management and finance processes.Collaborate with department leadership team to ensure coordination of partnership pilot projects, and alignment to strategic initiatives.Develop and provide training, planning, support, problem solving (change/moves management) to ensure effective partnerships implementation.Track, evaluate, and report regularly on progress.Educational Program ManagementManage and support operational planning and reporting.Manage programs budget including forecasting, accounts payable submissions, and budget reporting.Track, report and deliver on any grant and sponsorship requirements.Participate in special project workgroups, problem-solving, and staff development.Be open to other duties as assigned by management.Role QualificationsMinimum 5 years' experience within Providing patients with reliable health information and resources online.Technical CompetenciesExperience with content management systems (CMS) and familiarity with SEO practices.Strong writing skills with the ability to write engaging, informative, and shareable content and understanding of the target audience's needs.Strong research skills, ability to translate complex medical and insurance information into understandable content.Proficiency in grammar and spelling to produce error-free content.Acumen in audience analysis and persona developmentAbility to communicate effectively with diverse audiences.Strong editing skills, social media expertise and presence.Proficiency in the utilization of tools to create, edit, or source multimedia content such as videos, infographics, and interactive elements.Experience in working with digital platforms to present information.Understanding of the platform's technical requirements (e.g., YouTube, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook).Knowledge of current health trends and healthcare practices.Strong project management skills.Compensation & Benefits Info:Estimated hiring compensation range for this role is $57,000 - $70,000 based on our average compensation schedule. Final offers will be based on candidategeographic location and consider career experience and may vary from this range due to these and other factors.The National Multiple Sclerosis Society provides a highly competitive, comprehensive benefit package to employees.
