Library Worker/Bookmobile Driver

Stevenson Community Library has an opening for a full-time (40 hours/week) Senior Library Assistant. The primary responsibilities of this position includes:
Driving the bookmobile along its scheduled route.Routine circulation duties such as shelving materials, checking materials in and out and creating/updating patron accounts.Answering patron questions regarding resources, services and technology.Planning and presenting programs/events in coordination with the Branch Manager and/or Senior Branch Supervisor for patrons of all agesParticipating in Community events and facilitating programs offsite. Outreach events typically are on Saturdays or evenings.
Bookmobile
Skamania County Bookmobile provides service to communities in Skamania and western Klickitat County. Routes vary throughout the year. The current route schedule and images of the bookmobile is available on our website: https://www.fvrl.org/bookmobiles {rel="nofollow"}.
This position will have a minimum of 1 day per week driving the bookmobile, with the possibility of driving more than one day per week when needed to help cover absences for other drivers and outreach to community events.
Special certifications such as CDL are not required to operate the bookmobile, but experience driving larger vehicles such as delivery trucks would be preferred, especially in rural settings like the Gorge. FVRLibraries does provide driver training.

Tuesdays: 9:00 AM -- 6:00 PMWednesdays: 9:00 AM -- 6:00 PMThursdays: 900 AM -- 6:00 PMFridays: 9:00 AM -- 5:30 PMSaturdays: 9:00 AM -- 6:00 PM
Education & Experience Requirements
To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must meet the minimum qualifications listed below.
High School Diploma or GEDThree years clerical experienceOne or more years of experience working in a customer service role in a public library setting.Experience working with children.Experience driving large vehicles preferred
Compensation
The pay grade for this position spans from $20.71 per hour to $28.99 per hour. Offers to new employees with 3 years of clerical experience are expected to be at $20.71 per hour. Employees have annual pay increases until they reach the top of their pay grade. It takes an average of 12 years to progress through the entire pay grade.
