The Department of Visual and Performing Arts is seeking part-time student assistants for visual arts projects, events, publicity, and day-to-day functions.

JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESDay-to-day maintenance of the art studio spaces in the Classroom Building including restocking, removal of outdated flyers, inventory of classroom supplies, taking note of work orders or repairs needed, etc.Assist with the execution of visual arts events, including gallery showsExamples of support may include:

Assistance with hanging, labeling, and installing art workSupporting with catered eventsSourcing and stocking props for arts projectsSweeping, mopping, and maintaining event and studio spaces

Regular maintenance of VPA spaces, including storage closets, labs, and studios, including assistance with inventory and maintenance of equipmentAssist with graphic design needs (optional)Support with marketing such as: creating and designing social media posts for performing arts events, distributing flyers and postersPrinting and copying as neededAssist the Visual and Performing Arts Coordinator and Department Chair with additional operational duties as assignedTake responsibility for timesheet, time off, tracking hours, and making adjustments in the schedule, as per work study allotment, communicating with Program Coordinator any schedule changesNote: hours may vary depending on departmental needsQUALIFICATIONS

Ability to develop and implement work plansAbility to work individually and independently, taking ownership of assigned tasks and completing them in a timely mannerProficient in Microsoft Suite and Google applicationsFamiliarity with social media platformsExcellent written and oral communication skillsKnowledge of or experience in the performing arts or event management a plusFlexibility and a positive attitudeWillingness to ask for help and problem solveAbility to stand or sit for long periods, ability to life 25 poundsExperience with graphic design is a plus

Must have completed FAFSA on fileMust be enrolled in a minimum six (6) credit hoursMust NOT have yet obtained 1st Bachelor's DegreeMust be seeking an eligible program of study
