An independent school for girls in grades 6-12, inspired by the teachings of the Catholic Church, Montrose School was founded in 1979 and is located in the welcoming community of Medfield, 17 miles southwest of Boston. Montrose School attracts a talented and growing student population from 50 towns and communities.

Montrose seeks a full-time, twelve-month Marketing & Communications Manager beginning immediately. The Marketing & Communications Manager plays an important role in developing and implementing the school's strategic marketing and communications plan. In partnership with the Director of Advancement, the Manager is responsible for leading the school's strategic marketing initiatives, including publications, advertising, website, social media and branding across all departments. Responsibilities include planning, overseeing and executing the graphic design of print and digital collateral, internal and external communications and media relations.

Marketing

In partnership with the Director of Advancement, develop and implement a comprehensive marketing plan for the school, to include an internal marketing strategy to reinforce the school's value proposition to the parent community, and an external marketing strategy that will generate increased awareness of the school.Develop a powerful, unified brand identity and enforce brand standards across the school community. Ensure all messaging is aligned and on-brand. Maintain the school's brand and style guide.Ensure competitive positioning of the school in the marketplace through coordinated brand management, systematic capturing and dissemination of stories, data and accomplishments to increase visibility and awareness; strengthen reputation; empower ambassadors; grow enrollment and support philanthropy.Collaborate with the Office of Admission to develop, implement and assess strategic marketing programs, including digital and social media marketing, in order to meet enrollment goals.Leverage digital analytics data, overseeing the use of tools to ensure ongoing and overall health of the school's digital platforms.Communications

Create, design and oversee the production of all marketing and communications materials, including print and digital collateral, website and other digital portals, social media, video, publications, writing, ads, e-newsletters, etc., in collaboration with the Director of Advancement, the Marketing & Communications Associate, and other senior leaders.Manage the content of the school's websiteOversee the creation and dissemination of publications including semiannual magazines and Annual Report.Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to develop a school-wide communications calendar that is responsive to communications needs of all constituents.Cultivate and sustain media relationships, including regular review of digital review sites, identifying and acting upon effective outreach opportunities for the school.Other

Be the face of the school's Marketing and Communications efforts for both internal and external audiences.Provide excellent customer service to colleagues; listen attentively to their goals and help bring their vision to life in a collaborative nature.Supervise the work of marketing and communications staff, including the Marketing & Communications Associate, external vendors and consultants.Manage Marketing & Communications budget; provide recommendations to the Director of Advancement, CFOO & Head of School regarding funding for strategic department initiatives.This position is required to attend occasional weekend and evening events as needed.

A compelling candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree in Marketing/Communications or related fieldBackground in professional communications working in Marketing and Graphic Design for a minimum of 5+ years, preferably in a nonprofit/independent school environmentStrong writing skills with a great passion and appreciation for the craft. Capable of distilling verbose narratives into pithy, easily-digestible contentExperience using tools to manage a school's digital platformsProficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, etc.), Google Suite, and Microsoft OfficeExperience managing websites, including maintaining SEO-friendly contentExceptional communication and problem solving skillsExcellent organizational skills, time management and attention to detailExcellent proofreading capabilitiesExperience in managing multiple projects simultaneously and utilizing tools/systems to support this workA positive, can-do attitude and a desire to collaborate with colleagues across the institution
