JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Summary

The University Park Undergraduate Association is searching for an individual to serve as the Part-Time Executive Director of Public Relations. This individual will oversee all organizational outreach, and matters of public relations, while serving as the liaison and spokesperson for the UPUA to the undergraduate student body.

Requirements

Plan and execute regular programming and outreach events with the objective of exposing students to the UPUA

Manage the UPUA Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, and Facebook accounts, updating with relevant communications pertinent to the undergraduate student body

Attend external student organization meetings to convey information regarding the UPUA and to collect student feedback and needs

Lead weekly department meetings and successfully delegate tasks to subordinates

Work closely with representatives to advertise initiatives and programming events benefiting students

Building relationships with student organization partners and potential partners, offices, and the media

Ensuring our target audience is engaged and the message of the event is marketed properly

Creating engaging content for media releases, social media platforms, and newsletters

Act as primary support for members within the UPUA in regards to programming (event management and planning)

Serve as the chief spokesperson for UPUA, handling press inquiries and student inquiries as needed

Preferred Skills

Ability to deliver projects on tight deadlines

Experience planning and executing programming events

Creativity and the ability to think outside the box and innovate previous initiatives and projects done by representatives

Experience with updating websites and familiarity with the Squarespace platform

An outgoing and friendly person who is not hesitant to talk to every student on campus

Demonstrated enthusiasm and motivation to engage with the undergraduate student government (UPUA) in service to the student body

Efficient in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Comfortability with public speaking and engaging with students

Basic budget management skills to track spending on sponsorships, events, and marketing material

Anticipated Time Commitment

Minimum of 12 hours a week
