Launch That is seeking a Senior Content Strategist/Editor to join our hybrid and flexible workplace. Our hybrid work model consists of working from home on Monday and Friday, and working in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday to maximize team collaboration. We believe in offering ongoing flexibility when it comes to the things that happen in life, like childcare, doctor appointments and the joys of homeownership!

About This Role

The Senior Content Strategist/Editor is responsible for developing and leading the execution of content strategies that align with our business goals and brand voice. This person makes editorial decisions, resolves issues, and monitors and optimizes content performance to drive traffic, engagement and conversion across digital platforms and hit growth targets in competitive industries. This is not a management position.

The ideal candidate for this role is obsessed with content quality, excited by the challenges of ranking for highly competitive keywords, passionate about all things digital publishing and shares our drive to produce the best digital brands in the industry.

Day-to-Day

Editorial Leadership: Apply an advanced understanding of digital publishing to oversee the editorial process.

Data-Driven Decision-Making: Analyze performance metrics across properties to set content priorities and quantify results.

Project Management: Contract and manage editorial freelancers and vendors.

SEO Optimization: Implement SEO and content marketing best practices, workflows, tools, and templates to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of the publishing process, increase organic traffic and improve search engine rankings.

Quality Assurance: Develop and implement editorial policies and standards to ensure consistency and quality across all brand assets.

Growth Mindset: Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as required to support the overall success of the department and company goals.

Quality Impact

Ensure the accuracy, readability, consistency, and overall quality of content published across our websites and in off-site brand assets.

Implement the right content strategies to drive the right results.

Stay up-to-date with industry trends and take action to improve our brands.

Coordinate with other departments, such as marketing, PR and design, to ensure that all brand assets are visually appealing, consistent with the brand's style, and align with our brand's goals and objectives.

Team Impact

Work collaboratively with team members in your department and cross-departmentally to gain diverse viewpoints. This is an essential investment into our culture and includes identifying needs, pooling strengths and insights and evaluating data for inclusive goal completion to benefit the team and company's strategic goals.

Lead, mentor and inspire new and existing team members to meet our high standards for quality and performance.

Conduct regular meetings, brainstorming sessions, and training sessions with the team to provide updates, share feedback, discuss new initiatives, and identify relevant content topics and strategies that will attract and retain target audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Marketing or a related field

Minimum 8 years of professional digital content marketing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Advanced understanding of marketing tools and strategies to rank for competitive keywords

Proficiency in WordPress, project management software (e.g., Wrike), and G-Suite applications

Mastery of AP style and ability to adapt to company-specific style and formatting guidelines

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy

Strong organizational and project management abilities, with a deadline-oriented mindset

Professional associations, certificates, or certifications in relevant fields

Agility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment

Excellent verbal and written communications skills

Expertise/skills with both learning and sharing

Professional and adept, with the ability to embrace technology and automation

Ability to problem-solve, prioritize, and analyze tasks

Adept at taking direction and applying it with accuracy and innovation
