This position will support two major areas of responsibility, split 50% efforts in each of the two areas: 1) managing the communication activities of CANR International Programs, and 2) managing the nationalemerald ash borer.infowebsite and related communications.The successful candidate will collaborate with multiple stakeholders to create articles, news releases, publish newsletters, maintain websites, and other forms of communication/media.Responsibilities include:CANR International Programs (50%)+ Plan and produce on-line and print newsletters for a wide range of stakeholder groups.+ Plan and implement communication strategies, and on a regular schedule, produce content for X (formerly known as Twitter) and other social media platforms.+ Develop content including new communications and outreach materials, and work with other program or communications specialists as needed.+ Compose, edit and issue press releases as needed.+ Develop and maintain web content for CANR International Programs’ websites (anr.msu.edu/global/andanr.msu.edu/worldtap/).+ Work with faculty, staff, students, university and CANR communicators to achieve communication goals for CANR International Programs.Emerald Ash Borer Program (50%):+ Communicate with other outreach specialists, regulatory officials and scientists in the US regarding new EAB finds, regulations, revised management guidelines or related.+ Track elements of website use, assist in preparation of annual reports to funding agencies, and cooperate in identification of goals, objectives and expected outcomes of website-related activities.+ Cooperate with MSU’s RS-GIS unit, which hosts the website, and the RS-GIS webmaster who handles technical activities on a contractual basis. Gain familiarity with the content management system, facilitating new content posting and management.+ Collaborate with communications specialists at Purdue University and Ohio State University Extension to announce, publicize and host the EAB University series of webinars.
