The SEO Content Strategist position is a (W2) contractor. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in SEO keyword research, content strategy, and a keen eye for identifying opportunities to enhance our content’s performance. This role will involve supporting five distinct brands and conducting research using Semrush and Google Trends. This role will also be responsible for overseeing the content update process.This role will report directly to the Associate Director of SEO.Contractors will be responsible for providing their own equipment, including but not limited to laptop computers, cell phones, or any other electronic equipment required to perform their role.Responsibilities:Copy, edit and publish 8-10 articles and 5-10 web stories dailyWrite 2-3 articles per weekSupport the pitch process as neededManage and mentor a team of writers, providing constructive feedback to help them improve their skills and produce high-quality content.Plan ahead proactively to ensure content aligns with special events and holidaysEnsure all content meets our high standards for accuracy, readability, and engagement.Work closely with the Associate SEO Director to ensure content aligns with our SEO strategy.Qualifications:Education: N/ARequired Experience:
Proven experience as an SEO Content Strategist or similar roleStrong proficiency in using Semrush or AhrefsDemonstrated ability to conduct daily research using Google TrendsExperience identifying content update opportunities and providing detailed instructions for updatesExcellent understanding of SEO principles and how to apply them to content strategyStrong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data to inform content strategy decisions
Preferred Experience: N/ATechnologies: Fluent in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Google Trends, Asana, Semrush/Ahrefs, and WordPress CMSAdditional Qualifications:
Excellent organization and time management skills; ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentIndependent, entrepreneurial self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibilityMotivated to work hard in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and analytical skillsA healthy appreciation of GIFs and Black culture
Details:This is a fully remote, U.S.- based role.
