The Aviation and Mission Critical Studio at FSB is seeking a Registered Interior Designer to develop designs, specifications, and prepare construction documents for interior scopes of work for commercial aviation facilities. This position serves in a leadership role and drives interior design programming, concept development, technical documentation and furniture strategies. The Registered Interior Designer works directly with the client, manages and mentors junior staff, and assists with integrating interior design concepts with architectural and engineering systems.

Job Summary:

A Registered Interior Designer is NCDIQ certified and responsible for interpreting, organizing and executing the conceptual design of a project as well as utilizing creativity, foresight and judgment to meet project requirements and objectives through project completion.Responsibilities:Participates in the design control of projects in the design development, construction document, and supervision phases.Provides direction to lower-level interior designers.Develop and implement overall design and space planning concepts with team.Solve complex design problems through all design phases - concept, SD, DD, CD & CA.Participate in furniture selection, furniture palettes, material presentations and specification generation.Research, select and specify materials and finishes.Manage multiple projects and multiple deadlines.Work closely with senior level designers and project managers in the successful delivery of small, medium and large size stand-alone and integrated interiors and workplace projects.Proactively engage with teams and demonstrate a willingness to participate in the development of ideas at all levels.Provide design and documentation support on projects of various sizes and complexities.Produce and / or oversee the development and review of high quality, comprehensive contract documents.Required Skills:Proficiency in Revit required.Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.Demonstrated knowledge of interior design specifications, calculations, and industry standards.Strong programming, design, space planning, construction documentation, and technical detailing skills.Strong analytical & problem-solving skills.Ability to be proactive and successfully lead a production team.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Current understanding and application of commercial furniture systems.Experience in Sketchup, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign is preferred, but not required.Experience with Aviation projects is preferred. Experience with Commercial projects is required.Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture from an accredited program.NCIDQ certified.5+ years' experience in interior design on a wide variety of projects, 7 years preferred.At FSB Architects + Engineers, we believe that architecture is a collaborative endeavor that thrives on the collective wisdom of a diverse team.
