Proposal Writer, Req. 2147
Reporting directly to Proposal Manager, the Proposal Writer is responsible for reviewing Requests for Information (RFIs) and Requests for Proposals (RFPs) from government and commercial customers, develop the requirement matrices, assist the Proposal Manager with preparing proposal outlines and storyboards, coordinate Subject Matter Expert (SME) responses and edit/write compelling proposals to assist with strategic and operational development.
Essential Functions:
*Review RFI and RFP and ensure all required information is identified to begin initiating process for gathering information
* Develop the requirement matrices, in the specified format, and ensure all information is clear and concise
* Assist Proposal Managers with preparing proposal outlines and storyboards
* Provide input to RFI/RFP response that adheres to the RFI/RFP theme, requirements, and evaluation criteria
* Work with SMEs to obtain specific information that is required to develop a compliant response
* Write a compelling proposal; distribute for review, communicating specific response deadline to ensure any edit is made prior to submission
* Organize and standardize all boilerplate proposal materials; create fresh content as needed
* Maintain proposal server and graphics library
* Follow proposal management plans, and assist the Proposal Managers and Director of Proposals however needed to accomplish wins for SES
* Prioritize and balance multiple projects while delivering high quality writing assignments within short deadlines
Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent Required; BS/BA preferred
Other Experience:
o Five years proposal writing experience in a DoD environment preferred
o Requires excellent written/ oral communication skills
o Demonstrated excellence in MS Word and Adobe Acrobat required; preferred proficiency in MS Excel and MS PowerPoint
o Training from Shipley Associates or similar in writing and managing federal proposals preferred
o Experience in military aviation preferred
o Experience with Adobe Illustrator a plus
o Graphic design ability a plus
