POSITION SUMMARY

A Senior Designer initiates, conceptualizes, and executes thoughtful, creative, and responsive solutions that reinforce and elevate the design goals for the firm.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Tasks include, but are not limited to:

Contributes to the firm’s profitability and ensures that exceptional design solutions are achieved within budget and schedule.Meets with principals and project directors to review and understand the fees to support the team staying on budget.Must be self-directed and responsible for preparing, or leading a team to prepare, presentation and design drawings and coordinating design efforts amongst team members.Coordinates all consultants and agencies related to building design and process a deep understanding of code-related issues.Must be an excellent communicator with consultants, team members, and clients.Must possess evident passion for design, sustainability, and emerging technologies and stay abreast of industry trends and knowledge.Ability to execute a design project with little or no oversight.Must inspire team members and create excitement about the work.Demonstrates and models collaborative leadership skills and accepts responsibility to meet deadlines with sensitivity to project budgets.Delegates tasks in team scenarios and be effective in a fast-paced studio environment.Works directly with design principals, design directors, project directors, and project managers.REQUIREMENTS

10+ years of experience or equivalent in all phases of architecture, including substantial and varied experience in project planning.Bachelor’s degree in architecture or equivalent is required.Must possess a portfolio of high-quality designs illustrating solutions for all phases of a project from pre-design to construction administration.Skilled at BIM and other modeling and rendering software.Must have Type V and Type III multifamily experience with wraps and podiums in California.Additional Type I high-rise experience a plus.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
