Summary This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Office of Field Operations - Region VI in San Antonio, TX. The incumbent actively engages in marketing SBA programs and services through outreach, training, and education to various organizations and small businesses; building and maintaining collaborative alliances and partnerships with Resource Partners, economic development organizations and small business owners. Responsibilities As a Marketing and Outreach Specialist, GS-1101-09/11, you will be responsible for: Building and maintaining a local network of collaborative partnerships: economic development practitioners in Federal, state, regional and local government, chambers of commerce, business and trade associations, financial institutions, educational institutions and civic/community organizations. Representing the SBA at a variety of public functions through outreach/presentations/trainings in order to educate the small business, lender and contracting community about SBA programs and services, and other small business-relevant topics. Participating in or leading projects to accomplish outreach events and will be expected to collaborate with others on the team and other resources to ensure that the projects are successful. Serving as the Field technical representative responsible for compliance oversight of SBA district office customers. Promotion Potential: The selectee may be promoted to the full performance level without further competition when all regulatory, qualification, and performance requirements are met. Selection at a lower grade level does not guarantee promotion to the full performance level. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Specialized Experience for GS-09: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: marketing through outreach, training and education to various organizations; and participating in outreach, training, presentations and education on a variety of business management and financial management topics; and providing support to senior staff to maintain alliances and partnerships with a variety of partners. These qualifications must be clearly referenced in your resume. OR Education (see Education section below) Specialized Experience for GS-11: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector: assisting in the development of marketing strategies for programs and services for growth and development of a customer base; and delivering outreach, training, presentations and education on a variety of business management, financial management or lending topics related to small business; and managing collaborative alliances and partnerships with a variety of business development partners. Education Substitution for GS-09: Successful completion of a Master's OR equivalent graduate degree OR 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; OR LL.B. or J.D., if related. For example, an applicant who has 1.0 full year of Masters level education (i.e. 50% of education required) and 6 months of creditable specialized experience (i.e. 50% of the required experience) would equal 100% of the required experience for the position.
