You will collaborate with various art and design departments in your quest to create immersive environments and/or interesting characters for the extraordinary world of Sanctuary. The potential home studio for this role is Albany, NY.What you offer:Priorities can often change in a fast-paced environment like ours, so this role includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:Use strong fundamentals and knowledge of art, design, and Diablo IV to explore and conceptualize based on a given briefDemonstrate deep understanding of human and creature anatomy and/or light, composition, staging, and architecture, and environmental designWork with Production to ensure quality work is delivered according to a release scheduleWork with multi-disciplinary departments to tackle design problems and push the boundaries of the visual experience for game playersImplement AD feedback and build concepts from sketch to finished design, ready to be passed off to 3D modelersWork with 3D modeling team to make needed changes to assetsMinimum RequirementsExperience5+ years of demonstrated ability working as a Character Concept Artist in game developmentExperience in visual storytelling and using art to enhance gameplay experiencesExperience working with 3D modeling teamsKnowledge & SkillsA strong grasp on practical character design grounded in a dark Arthurian realistic world while pushing the boundaries of various levels of fantasyAbility to describe materials differences in your designAbility to adjust in scope from creating unique art pieces from scratch, to tweaking and improving existing assetsAbility to use strong shapes and silhouettes to create powerful imagery and charactersHave a deep understanding of human and creature anatomy and how to use reference to ground a designExtra PointsWillingness to complete a test if requested to do soApplication Materials RequiredPortfolio demonstrating relevant skills.
