The Everlane Design team is a group of passionate people focused on creating product that lives up to our vision: Creating a sustainable way to build a forever wardrobe with a minimum impact on the planet. As the Associate designer of Shoes & Accessories, you will play a pivotal role in supporting our design and product development teams to create contemporary footwear and accessory designs for a sustainably focused fashion company. This multifaceted position requires a blend of creativity, technical skill, and attention to detail. You will collaborate closely with the design team, factories, and suppliers to bring our vision to life, from initial concept to final product. This role offers an exciting opportunity to immerse yourself in the dynamic world of footwear and accessory design while contributing to the growth and success of our brand's commitment to sustainability.

This position reports directly to the design manager of the shoes and accessories division at Everlane. This is a full-time hybrid role based at our San Francisco office headquarters in the Mission neighborhood.

Your day-to-day:

Assist in the creation of seasonal designs for the footwear and accessory categoriesStay informed about current market trends, vintage research, materials and techniquesAssist in creating detailed sketches and digital renderings of designs, prototype techpacksSupport in the planning and executing of product development according to seasonal critical datesAssist in recommending and specifying the material, component, and construction options to meet pricing targets and products functional goals, as well as assure product performance integrity through product testing (physical and field testing)Support the seasonal development of leather and non-leather materials for quarterly collectionsTrack fabric and color development quarterly with each factory from development to production. Work with the color team to ensure lab dips are approved according to standard.Consistent follow up: Working closely with the design manager to ensure development information and updates are properly communicated to our overseas partnersCollaborate with cross functional teams, including merchandising, marketing and production to ensure alignment on design vision and product goals.Participate in product related meetings including design hand off meetings, proto fittings, sketch reviewsWe'd love to hear from you if you have:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design, Industrial Design, or a related field.2+ years of experience in footwear design or product developmentHave knowledge of the total footwear construction process including outsole/midsoles, material construction and propertiesStrong sketching, illustration, and technical drawing skills.Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD programs.Knowledge of footwear materials, construction techniques, and manufacturing processes.Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management abilities.

At Everlane, we carefully consider a wide range of compensation factors, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. The annual compensation range for this role is $22.50 - $33.00 per hour.

This range is based on the San Francisco geographic area and the actual pay may vary depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographic location.
