THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a strategic software engineering lead who is passionate about improving the performance of key applications and benchmarks You will be a member of a core team of incredibly talented industry specialists and will work with the very latest hardware and software technology.
THE PERSON:
The ideal candidate should be passionate about software engineering and possess leadership skills to drive sophisticated issues to resolution. Able to communicate effectively and work optimally with different teams across AMD.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Work with AMD's architecture specialists to improve future productsApply a data minded approach to target optimization effortsStay informed of software and hardware trends and innovations, especially pertaining to algorithms and architectureDesign, implement, and test features to enhance GPU support in communication libraries, middleware and frameworksBenchmark, profile and optimize code to maximize performance of multi-node GPU applicationsDeliver high-quality code and documentation following best practices for open-source software developmentWork with key technical experts across AMD and with our partners and customers to improve ROCm applications, libraries, and toolsPREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
15+ years experience developing system software in C++12+ years experience with at least one of the following:Implementing communication middleware like MPI/SHMEMImplementing lower-level communication frameworks like UCX and libfabric, or development using RDMA APIsDevelopment and optimization of communication collective algorithms (e.g. AllReduce)Familiarity with GPU programming in HIP or CUDAIn-depth knowledge of best practices in software development, including testing, profiling, debugging, documentation, version control, issue tracking, and planningProven track record contributing to open-source projectsEffective communication and problem-solving skillsACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
