Description

The Interior Designer/Space Planner will prepare designs, edit specifications, and conceptual estimates for interior work, repair, and/or renovation of government, airport, and commercial related facilities. This position creates, designs and implements interior design and space planning strategies and initiatives to ensure fluidity through the completion of the project.

Prepares designs, quantity calculations, designs, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings for interiors of aviation and/or federal facilities.

Responsible for compiling data, providing elementary design computations, and assisting with preparation of internal design plans and renderings.

Responsible for furniture purchasing and reconfiguration.

Researches interior design products and makes recommendations.

Researches, develops, and selects color, finish, and materials.

Responsible for recommending new ideas, formulas and methods.

Leads construction administration activities through site visits and review of schedules.

Responsible for maintaining conformance with building standards, established architectural practices, and applicable building codes.

Complies with all policies and standards.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Interior Design or similar field is required. (CIDA accredited Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Interior Design is highly preferred.)

A minimum of 4 years of experience in Interior Design consulting or similar field.

A National Council for Interior Design Qualifications (NCIDQ Certification) is required.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Demonstrated knowledge with Revit and other 3-D visualization software such as Enscape and/or Lumion.

Demonstrated knowledge of Interior Design specifications, calculations, industry standards as well as visual, written and oral communication skills.

Expert in the use of computers for making architectural drawings, calculations and 3-D visual simulations.

Demonstrated knowledge of architectural principles and theory associated with project design and construction document production.

Compensation

$85,000.00-115,000.00 Annually

The expected compensation range for this position is displayed in compliance with all local/state regulations. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience and work location. The total annual compensation package will consist of a base salary and eligibility to participate in our discretionary year-end incentive bonus program.
