OUR STORY

THE CHICAGO CUBS FRANCHISE is a charter member of Major League Baseball's National League. Since 1876, the team has won the National League pennant 17 times and was the first team to win back-to-back World Series titles in the 1907 and 1908 seasons. In 2016, the Chicago Cubs made history again when the team won its first World Series in 108 years, ending the longest championship drought in North American sports. Known for its ivy-covered outfield walls, hand-operated scoreboard and famous Marquee sign, iconic Wrigley Field has been the home of the Chicago Cubs since 1916, making it the second oldest ballpark in Major League Baseball.

HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE

The Chicago Cubs are looking for a creative, resourceful and tech-savvy Coordinator to join their social media team. This fast-paced position will create and deploy engaging content for team-owned social media accounts across Instagram, TikTok, X, Facebook and LinkedIn. They'll contribute to the growth of the Cubs social media following, evaluate and report on content performance, and support a wide range of brand building and revenue generating initiatives. This is a Chicago-based role that often works nontraditional hours. Remote work is not an option for this position.

THE DAY TO DAY:Leverage the team's content calendar to determine day-to-day social priorities and timingWork with the Cubs creative studio to develop graphics and videos for social channelsCraft engaging copy for social posts that align with brand voice & guidelinesProvide gameday content coverage for all pre-season, regular season and post-season gamesExecute social strategies that support ticket sales, corporate partnerships and other revenue streamsTap into social influencers to extend the Cubs reach & relevanceEnsure all social content is executed in a brand safe wayEvaluate social trends & determine if the Cubs should participate in themMonitor brand sentiment on social media at key moments during the yearEvaluate the performance of social content and share reporting on a regular basisOther duties as assignedWHAT YOU'LL BRING:

College degree in a relevant field1+ years of experience in social content creation for a national brandExceptional copywriting and editing skills (AP style)Proficiency with Adobe creative suiteProject management skills, including timeline and budget managementGeneral understanding of Major League Baseball and game rulesAbility to work a varied, non-standard schedule including evenings, weekends and holidaysExperience working with Sprout Social or other social analytics toolsCandidates must provide a link to their content portfolio along with applicationWHAT SETS YOU APART:
