Responsible for general support of the Senior Apparel Designer and Apparel Designer on the design and development process of apparel private brands. Support includes the product development and design functions to execute trends, as developed by creative director, that meet market needs and drive sales by ensuring timely execution of each stage in the process. Minimum- High School Diploma or GED- 1 year experience in a related design field- Proficient in Microsoft Office- Knowledge of fabric construction performance, and any specific processing and treatments- Understanding of how to develop and identify seasonal trends and creating story and mood boards- Knowledge of silhouettes, fabrications, construction techniques, fit and trim- Understanding/Experience in Sketching, design, sewing techniques, pattern construction- Expertise in apparel design, construction, tailoring, fit and a broad working knowledge of textiles- Understanding of PLM, Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, InDesign- Ability to work successfully across all organizational levels- Ability to prioritize/multi-task while providing accurate/on-time results- Excellent oral/written communication skills

Desired- Bachelor's Degree apparel design-related discipline or combination of relevant education and experience- Support the Senior Apparel Designer and Apparel Designer to create a line/category that is on trend, sell-able and upholds the brand integrity- Support the design process from initial sketch to production- Support in preparation of line and presentation and breakdown including room set up, samples, and materials for line reviews and buyer meetings- Support in preparation of proto samples, store bought samples, fabric swatches, sketches and tears during development meetings- Support in management of Seasonal line sheets with-in the PLM system and maintain records so Line sheets are updated and correct for product line selection- Support in tracking and communication in approved fabric samples, lab dips and other development materials sent from factories- Support in fittings including updating sketches as needed- Manage shipping and tracking of all samples- Support in review of design samples and clearly communicate changes for timely project completion including stitching, cut, and fit specifications- Create technical flats of designs with accurate construction callouts, selection of raw materials and colors, manage development of BOM data integrity- Communicate details relating to all aspects of garment with suppliers- Interpret fashion, market trends and competitive product offerings to understand the over-all market and identify opportunities relevant to our product as directed by Apparel Creative Director and Designers- Keep abreast of current industry, design and apparel trends for all four quarterly deliveries- Stay up to date on the design and development schedule to ensure a timely completion of projects- Must be able to perform the essential job functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation
