Organizational Overview:Global Health Labs, Inc (GH Labs) innovates to reduce health disparities, especially in low-and middle-income countries. As a nonprofit corporation fully funded by Gates Ventures (the private office of Bill Gates), we partner with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and other cross-sector leaders to develop technology solutions that address unmet needs in:Diagnostics.Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health.Primary Healthcare Tools and Equipment.Recent innovations from GH Labs resulted in several commercially available rapid COVID-19 antigen tests, an AI-enabled smartphone app to detect cervical cancer, and a portable cold chain device that enables vaccine delivery to remote communities, among many other tools and technologies advanced for the people who need them most.About the Job:GH Labs is seeking a Program Manager, Communications to support the Executive Office to guide the development of internal communications as well as leadership communications efforts to advance the goals of the organization.Role Summary:The Program Manager, Communications will help drive internal org-wide communications and elevate employee engagement in service of GH Labs’ mission. In addition, they will support executive communications, working closely with the Executive Director, the leadership team, and senior management, to ensure the planning, development, and execution of internal communications. This position will support the business priorities and objectives and align with GH Labs’ values and goals.The Program Manager, Communications is a member of the Executive Office, which is responsible for driving the organization's pipeline of projects addressing critical technology gaps in low-resource environments with a focus on diagnostics, tools for maternal, newborn, and child health, primary healthcare centers, and last-mile delivery. The Executive Office is also responsible for setting the tone of the organization, ensuring how GH Labs employees work is as effective as the outcomes the team produces.They will collaborate with colleagues across the organization, and with external partners when necessary, using communications as a tool to advance the mission. They will also partner with stakeholders to co-create employee-driven engagement opportunities to help motivate staff to articulate and embody GH Labs’ values.Key Duties and Responsibilities:Communications and Engagement:Promote leaders and employee engagement with GH Labs’ mission/vision, strategy, values, and culture through effective experiences, content development, and efficient and effective use of internal channels, programs, and events.Collaborate closely with the Executive Director, Executive Business Administrators, HR, and senior leaders to align all company messaging, ensuring an integrated approach that reinforces GH Labs’ mission and values.Oversee all day-to-day internal communication platforms such as Virtual Bulletin Board, All Hands Meetings and other live events, company-wide emails from leadership and longer-term projects.Support the Executive Director -sponsored culture community of “Values Ambassadors” in collaboration with the support team.Provide communications support for org-wide meetings and initiatives (e.g., editing, templates, frameworks, rhythm-of-the-business communications) and provide support for internal change management efforts as needed.Create internal communications, write org-wide communications and announcements for promotions, awards, and employee arrivals and departures.Manage and maintain the limited external presence we have in place (e.g., Website, LinkedIn.)Maintain close relationships with counterparts at Gates Ventures and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to ensure strong collaboration as needed.Collaborate with internal writers/editors of scientific articles, as needed.Required Skills and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, or other related field.5 – 7 years of corporate communications experience.Demonstrated excellence in writing and data analysis, written and oral communication skills, media relations, and experience advocating and communicating with a broad and diverse audience.Excellent organizational and project management skills, to effectively oversee multiple projects simultaneously.Demonstrated ability to develop a transparent and candid relationship with colleagues at all levels in the organization based on trust and professional respect.Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to collaborate, listen, challenge, and communicate in a compelling fashion.Political savvy and good cultural humility, with ability to actively seek input, find commonalities, and align different priorities across different parts of the organization.Experience in a role requiring collaboration in a complex organization and working with external organizations.Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and employees across the entire organization.Proficient using social media and other web tools.Ability to work in a complex and fast-paced environment, managing competing deadlines and priorities.Passion for people, and the use of language as a tool to connect others.Required Competencies:GH Labs Success Factors: We believe there are a few prioritized key capabilities and behaviors that are critical to success for all roles at GH Labs. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range for this position is $75,000 to $130,000. We aim to hire new employees between $75,000 to $100,000. allowing future compensation growth within the range based on aptitude in the role and context, and progress and performance against goals over time.We believe that our employees are the reason for our success.
