Position Purpose:Join MercyOne as a Polysomnographic Technologist where you will play a crucial role in conducting sleep studies and related procedures. Your expertise will contribute to the preparation of test results for physician interpretation and you will actively participate in the education and training of our staff, serving as a vital resource. This position aligns with MercyOne's commitment to exceptional care and upholds our Mission, Vision, and Values.Key Responsibilities:Conduct Sleep Studies: Perform sleep laboratory tests and related procedures, ensuring accurate results.Patient Education: Provide essential education to patients regarding their sleep studies and procedures.Communication: Effectively communicate relevant clinical information to staff and physicians.Accurate Scoring: Accurately score sleep studies and prepare detailed reports.Scheduling and Data Entry: Schedule patients for testing and input accumulated charges into the computer system.Staff Training: Participate in the education and training of staff members, acting as a knowledgeable resource.Age-Appropriate Care: Deliver care tailored to the specific needs of patients across various age groups:Adolescents (12-18 years)Adults (18-65 years)Geriatrics (65+ years)Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety, infection control, and colleague health policies and procedures. Maintain a thorough understanding of Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as Trinity Health's Organizational Integrity Program and Standards of Conduct.Qualifications:Certificate of graduation from an accredited allied health or Polysomnography technology program.Iowa license in the relevant field.Preferred: CRT or RRT certification.Required: Registered Iowa Polysomnographic Technologist certification.Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.Mandatory Reporter certification.Valid Iowa driver's license with an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR).Preferred: Minimum of one year of acute care experience.Proficiency in personal computer and database software.Ability to work with diverse groups of people and under pressure with a high degree of independence.Capability to perform unscheduled procedures.
