$50-$80/hrJob Description:Client is looking for a front-end web development contractor to join the External Payment Services group. You will be responsible for creating HTML/XHTML and CSS for Client's next-generation payments website. The successful candidate should be experienced working with graphics design tools (Photoshop, Illustrator) and converting design mockups to cross-browser compatible HTML/CSS and JavaScript.Key Projects:HTML & Java prototypesTypical Day in the Role:Use design software to create mockups and HTML prototypes for new features.Build/Code static and dynamic pages from these mockups and additional specifications.Create and manage CSS styles and CSS frameworks.Ensure customer-facing new features meet style requirements.Create code for front-end behaviors with Dynamic HTML.Cross-browser test and troubleshoot site presentation.Develop optimized/cross-platform front-end code in CSS/XHTML and JavaScript.Develop functional prototypes to demonstrate concepts and to enable rapid iterative support for usability research.Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and researchers to refine the user experience.A proven portfolio demonstrating the above skills will be required.Must-Haves:4+ years of experience in front-end web developmentBrowser rendering and cross-browser knowledgeExpert with HTML/XHTML at the hand-coding levelExpert in CSS for content styling and layoutUnderstanding of cross-browser compatibility issuesJavaScript skill is preferredAble to operate in a Linux environmentBA required / MA preferredSkills and Abilities Required:Expert with a major design application (Fireworks or Photoshop)Expert XHTML/CSS for cross-browser renderingUser Interface design and diagrammingJavaScript to add behaviors to otherwise static pagesSemantic coding with CSS/XHTMLNice to Have:Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks like React.Experience with responsive design.Knowledge of web performance optimization.
