  • Start with people problems: We start with high-impact career problems experienced by professionals. This is how we create a thriving community and platform. Because, without the professional, our product doesn’t exist.
  • Build what matters: Our best ideas are our best because we quantify impact before and after we launch. We only work on the best ideas. And it is just as important to say no to everything else.
  • Make it simple: Reducing complexity creates clarity for our users and also ourselves. Eliminate ambiguity. Enable people to see, understand, and act with confidence.
  • Build with quality: We ship with attention to detail and ensure that our customers' experience is exactly what we designed for them.
  • Act with integrity: Sincerity fosters trust, so we are honest even when it’s tough. We act in a way that is consistent with what we say. We follow through on what we promise to do.

As a key member of our product design leadership team, you will play an essential role in leading us in realizing our team vision and living our team mission:

  • Design Team Vision: To become a renowned organization, known for our brave vision and vibrant culture, rooted in our unique combination of user-centered practices, first principles thinking, and exacting craftsmanship.
  • Design Team Mission: To be customer-obsessed. To lead, with Product Management and Engineering partners, turning unmet needs into future value through consistent practice of user-centered design with measurable results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Design Leadership: Advocate for user-centric design within the organization, ensuring that community design principles are integrated into product development.
  • Understanding the competitive landscape: Bring your experience in social media to inform the baseline and differentiating feature design for Glassdoor Community.
  • Innovative Solutions: Identify opportunities to solve complex problems through innovative and cohesive design solutions that enhance user engagement and satisfaction.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to align design strategies with business objectives and technology capabilities.
  • Design Excellence: Maintain high standards of design quality and attention to detail, ensuring all deliverables meet or exceed user and business expectations.
  • Systems-level Thinking: Implement systems-level design thinking to create scalable and sustainable design solutions that address the needs of diverse user communities.
  • Gamification: Understand how to create an experience that gives users ownership, encourages them to strive for more engagement, while also maintaining the supportive, professional experience.
  • Design Communication: Articulate high-level design strategies and concepts to leadership and stakeholders, advocating for the value of design in achieving business goals.
  • Culture Building: Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, nurture the growth and development of the design team, and contribute to a thriving design culture.

What You'll Bring:
