What we are looking for:

Striking Distance Studios is looking for a talented Senior Level Designer with proven experience creating fun, memorable, immersive, and engaging worlds. This role will be part of the multiplayer team on an unannounced AAA title.

Responsibilities:Creating 2D layouts & 3D blockouts of your level designs.Write and maintain documentation for levels and level mechanics.Setting up gameplay events in Blueprint.Planning, implementing and improving level combat.Collaborate across departments and disciplines to create and implement level content.Providing constructive improvement based feedback for other levels and upcoming designers.Block out and build 3D levels through various phases of development.Research and be intimately familiar with the game's subject matter, locations, and architecture.Communicate progress with Production to ensure all deadlines are met.Drive development of levels from concept through block-out to final gameplay.Responsible for placement of items, weapons and other game objects.Use research and player feedback to guide gameplay balance and tuning in a live environment to ensure high levels of player engagement.Support the game's vision and goals, and work with team leadership proactively to evangelize the game within the team.Qualifications:

5 years minimum game design development experience3 years minimum multiplayer level design experienceHave shipped AAA multiplayer titles as a cooperative multiplayer level designerCan provide a portfolio of cooperative multiplayer mapsUnreal Engine experienceUnderstanding of basic level design methodology and terminologyProficient in a Major 2D Imaging Package (Photoshop / Illustrator)Proficient in producing 3D level blockouts in Maya or Unreal quickly for iterationA demonstrable love / passion for playing and making video gamesA highly communicative and collaborative disposition

In California, the expected salary range for this position is $134,000-$155,000. The listed expected salary range represents a good faith estimate and the actual pay may depend on a variety of job-related factors that can include experience, education, skills, and location.
