Junior Tactical Fashion Designer

Join our innovative team at RTS Tactical, a Miami-based company dedicated to crafting high-performance gear for private and public agencies. We're expanding our design department and seeking hardworking team players ready to collaborate in a dynamic environment.
Position Overview:As a Junior Tactical Fashion Designer, you'll be pivotal in conceptualizing and executing tactical initiatives. We're looking for someone with not only a passion for design but also practical skills in sewing, pattern making, and understanding construction. This role involves working closely with our team to produce prototypes in-house, reducing lead times and enhancing our agility.
Daily Overview:Applicants for this position should expect to spend a significant portion of their time sewing, creating patterns, and utilizing Gerber and Illustrator software. This position requires comfort working with heavy-weight fabrics (8oz to 14oz) and operating industrial sewing machines.
Key Responsibilities:1. Collaborate on Design Projects:• Work with senior designers and cross-functional teams to develop design concepts.• Ensure alignment with project goals and objectives.2. Execution of Tactical Design:• Translate design briefs into visually compelling tactical designs.• Create graphics, layouts, and visual elements for various platforms.3. Research and Analysis:• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging design technologies.• Conduct market research to inform design decisions.4. Adaptability and Learning:• Willingness to learn new design tools and techniques.• Proactively seek feedback for continuous improvement.5. Quality Assurance:• Conduct thorough quality checks to meet company standards.• Address and rectify any design issues or errors promptly.
Qualifications:Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Strong sewing skills, pattern making abilities, and understanding of garment construction.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Detail-oriented with a strong sense of accountability.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Bachelor's degree in Product Design, Apparel Design, Graphic Design, Visual Arts, a related field, or 5+ years of relevant experience.
