Job Description

ArtWorks is expanding to include a photo and video studio, and is seeking Photo & Video Studio Artists who will fulfill a range of client services with a focus on photo and video production under the guidance of the Photo & Video Studio Manager. This unmatched opportunity will provide emerging artists with an opportunity to develop skills in photography, filmmaking, client management, and shoot production. Photo & Video Studio Artists work as a collaborative team to support client projects with the opportunity to present themselves as artists to clients. There may be times that the role supports or assists other creative studios or projects because of capacity needs.

Additionally, Photo & Video Studio Artists will engage in a series of professional development opportunities to advance their resume, cover letter writing, portfolio development, budgeting, client management, and networking skills. This job will have a flexible schedule throughout the year, but Photo & Video Studio Artists will be required to work an average of 12 hours a week on various project assignments. Photo & Video Studio Artists will be required to attend weekly meetings with the full team and monthly professional development and enrichment trainings.

Key Job Responsibilities:

General

Attend meetings for the Photo & Video Studio, typically Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9am-1pmUphold strategies and systems for studio management, maintenance, and file/spatial organization. Ensure all aspects of an assigned project are uploaded, accessible, and maintained through to project closingProfessionally communicate through ArtWorks' project management software (Basecamp), utilizing ArtWorks best practicesPlanning & Production

Learn the various aspects of photo and video production for ArtWorks and external clientsLead, self-direct, or take accountability for delegated responsibilities in studio or onsite for timely project progressionCreate shot lists and take photos and video footage, as assignedRespond to critiques and feedback on work, adjust to client needs, and adhere to modern photo and film production standardsDevelop a personal portfolio of work related to photo and film projectsCareer Readiness

Attend monthly professional development workshops and trainings, typically on FridaysComplete professional development program milestones, including portfolio reviews, cover letter and resume writing workshops, networking opportunities, and artist talksParticipate in completing reviews, program evaluations, and surveysClient Management

Learn the various aspects of client relationship management including professional communication, project scope definition, expectations, deadlines, pricing, and budget developmentEstablish and maintain positive client relationshipsSupport the development and pitching of project proposals/presentations and creative briefsSupport ongoing communication with the Photo & Video Studio Manager, clients, and photographers and filmmakers (as needed)Act as an ArtWorks ambassador to current and potential clients and guestsQualifications and experiences

Must be between 18 and 24 years old at the start of employmentCommitment to ArtWorks' mission, vision, values, culture and Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility Plan1 - 2 years of photo/video classes at high school or college level, or equivalent independent practiceCollaborative Experience(s) with photo/video projects and/or a willingness to work as a teamBasic knowledge of visual editing software including Photoshop, Lightroom, and PremierePro a plus, but not requiredFlexibility with work hours that accommodates studio and team needsWilling to learn from and take direction from professional artistsSkills and abilities
