Do you enjoy the art of bringing concepts to life? Crafting depth and believability from paper? Pushing and pulling verts in an endless sea of wireframes until it evolves into shape and mass, slapping your painting skills as a final touch to form a living, breathing, environment? We’re seeking someone like you! Someone that isn’t afraid to build anything, from small, whimsical, water guns, to large, intergalactic platforms. There will be a large assortment of assets requiring your expertise. You’ll be responsible for owning the tasks you’re given, working closely with your manager as well as with cross disciplinary teams, and executing to the best of your ability within a game dev environment and deadlines.ResponsibilitiesModel a wide range of assets to spec from provided conceptsUV and texture models to specImplement assets into the project in UnityWork with your manager and across disciplines to create or edit assetsOwn work from following art direction, meet deadlines on time, and deliver game-ready assets for implementationKnow the game and contribute to the ideas that help make the game betterRequired Qualifications5+ years professional experience with at least 1 shipped AAA title or equivalent work in a related field (worked on the project from inception through completion)Portfolio demonstrating expert knowledge and abilities with examples of 3D production artwork for gamesHigh level modeling skillsHigh level UV skillsHigh level hand painted texturing skillsExperience with Jira or similar task-management systemsExpert knowledge of job related tools and software (Photoshop, Maya, etc.)Strong ability to translate 2D to 3D, capturing accurate form, scale, and detailsEstablish and manage the 3D PipelineManage and Mentor our 3D ArtistsManage Outsourcing for 3D Assets (Communication, Tasking, Review, Feedback, and Tracking)Excellent ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partiesAttention to detail, meticulous and organized working habitsAbility to multi-task and to adapt easily to changeEstablish best practices and execution on 3D asset creation and optimizationsMobile game development experienceExpert Unity game engine experiencePassion for games and knowledge of the games industryDesired QualificationsUnity experienceAbility to create a wide range of game assetsShipped a new IPWorked on a project from inception through completionBroad knowledge of Strategy Card gamesStrong sense of game design and gameplayWho we are – Tempo Games StudioTempo Games is a new start-up games studio in production on its first major title. The Bazaar is an infinitely replayable, global, and free-to-play strategy game for all platforms. Salary offered will be determined based on numerous relevant business and candidate factors including, for example, education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, domain knowledge, interview performance, position level, geographic location, and business or organizational needs.In the United States, the standard annual base pay range for this role is $80,000 and up, depending on the above-mentioned factors. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the U.S.The salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Tempo. We also offer a package of benefits including discretionary paid time off, paid time off for federal holidays, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and tax-advantaged 401(k) accounts to regular full-time employees.
