The Morgan Stanley Institute for Sustainable Investing sits within the firm's Global Sustainability Office (GSO). The Institute is dedicated to accelerating the adoption of sustainable investing, which seeks to deliver both competitive financial returns and positive environmental and social impacts. The Institute partners across the firm to foster innovation, help develop the next generation of sustainable investing leaders and generate insights that inform and empower investors.The Sustainability Communications Associate will support the Institute's thought leadership and strategic communications efforts, in addition to contributing to other initiatives within GSO. The ideal candidate for this role will be a communications and marketing specialist with a passion for sustainability. The candidate should possess exceptional writing, presentation and organizational skills, excellent project management skills, strong attention to detail and demonstrated experience with content strategy, digital and multimedia design. The person in this role will support the thought leadership team in creating high-quality content across various channels, developing creative and engaging digital assets and helping the team reach new audiences.Responsibilities:-Support the creation of high-quality content for various channels, including web, social media, newsletters and marketing materials, with a focus on sustainability and sustainable finance topics.-Support the drafting and copyediting of thought leadership content, including white papers, articles and bylines.-Develop engaging creative assets, including infographics, animated and/or video content and social media visuals.-Support communications and marketing efforts for sustainable-finance related events, including webinars, roundtables and conferences.-Conduct desk research and synthesize key takeaways on a range of sustainable finance topics that support thought leadership and other GSO initiatives.-Produce summary topic briefs and communications toolkits for published content.-Monitor content performance and recommend best practices, develop quarterly reports for senior leadership on content performance.-Ensure consistent messaging and visual branding across all GSO communications and thought leadership efforts.-Manage compliance review and approval process for content as needed.-Drive process and project management, assisting with content development for investor and executive level audiences.-Foster relationships with internal stakeholders across Corporate Communications, Digital Strategy, Marketing, Public Relations and Brand to ensure alignment.-Proven experience as a communications specialist, including 2-3 years of work experience in an agency, corporate communications, marketing or business communications environment.-Familiarity with sustainable finance, ESG or corporate sustainability themes and trends.-Proven experience in creative communications development, thought leadership and/or content strategy.-Detail-oriented with excellent business writing, communications and presentation skills.-Ability to translate complex business, environmental and social issues into easily understood and actionable insights.-Strong and efficient research capabilities, with the ability to analyze and prioritize information that is both quantitative and qualitative in nature.-Comfort juggling multiple priorities; strong organizational and time management skills.-A self-starter with persistence, tenacity and drive for results.-The ability to thrive in a team-based environment with multiple stakeholders.-Strong PC skills, especially PowerPoint and Excel.-Experience with email marketing tools such as Stensul, BlastMail and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.-Experience with content management solutions such as Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).-Experience with design software, including Canva and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Premiere Pro).Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $80,000 and $110,000 per year at the commencement of employment.
