Full Time, W2Job Summary:Proposal Writer who will be responsible for authoring and editing content for proposals and responses to RFPs, RFIs and RFQs for current and potential clients. The Proposal Writer will work with key stakeholders to develop proposal sections, such as, but not limited to corporate and executive summaries, past performance volumes, technical approaches, management plans, business proposals and other documents in support of the overall proposal effort. This position is HYBRID, with approximately 1 day per week required in the office in the Springfield, VA area)Responsibilities:Research information on a broad base of areas and describe the principles, operations, and basic concepts in clear simple language.Work with essential team members to derive storyboards, outlines, win themes, approach/methodologies, and strategies.Interview and work directly with subject matter experts, program managers, and the business development team collecting, tailoring, and translating content to ensure appropriate messaging in compliance with solicitation documentation including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, RFTOPs, Amendments, and Answers to Questions.Responsible for writing and rewriting text to ensure clarity, consistency, andcompliance in a timely manner following established processes.Coordinate and manage the efforts of multiple contributors and capable of managing multiple proposals at the same time.Create and use proposal templates following corporate standards and best practices.Write original text and edit technical data prepared by others.Maintain documentation within SharePoint for future reference.Ensures proposals are compliant, properly formatted and aligned with corporate standards.Ensure timely completion and accuracy of all work sometimes under tight schedule constraints.Respond to RFQ/RFP requests utilizing Shipley's Proposal Writing guidelines.Develop requirements matrix outlining individual RFQ/RFP requirements.Evaluate RFQ/RFP requirements to determine format of proposal.Responsible for the development of draft and final documents.Responsible for the development or coordination of graphics and/or spreadsheets.Responsible for editing/proofing documents.Build close working relationships, lines of communication, and trust with the program team.Education/Certifications:Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, or a related discipline.Preferred certification - Association for Proposal Management Professional CertificationRequired Qualifications:Minimum 4-6 years' experience as a proposal writer.Prior experience authoring proposals, RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, or similardocuments in federal contracting and/or government environments.Must be a US Citizen.Desired Qualifications:Strong interpersonal and presentation skills.A strategic business partner.Stakeholder-focused.Skilled motivator.Fully vested in success.Well-respected leader
