Job Description

The OHIO Online Student & Programs Communications manager is responsible for developing quality and timely communications by OHIO Online to prospective and enrolled students, corporate partner organizations and others; coordinating and executing recruitment, yield, engagement, and student success communications on behalf of OHIO Online and in alignment with OHIO's brand and mission. This person collaborates closely with the Manager, CRM Operations to effectively execute communications and OHIO Online functional leaders to deliver high quality and relevant communications at the right time to the right students. The position researches, conceptualizes, and creates communication plans for prospective and enrolled online students as well as corporate partner and other affinity contacts.

Job Responsibilities Include:OHIO Online Communication Development and Execution. Under the direction of the Senior Director of Strategy & Operations and in accordance with Ohio University policy and any pertinent communications regulations, collaborate with OHIO Online functional leaders and Division of Enrollment Management staff to plan, develop, and execute communications to groups and subgroups of prospective and enrolled students, corporate and affinity partners, and other internal and external stakeholders. Communication purposes include recruiting, yield, student engagement, student academic and career success, corporate and affinity partner engagement, corporate and affinity partner employee enrollment, etc. Work closely with OHIO Online functional leaders to create appropriate communications for appropriate recipients, seek and obtain needed approvals, and coordinate with other communication efforts. Develop, in collaboration with others and in compliance with university policy, communications lists including only appropriate recipients. Ensure all communications are consistent with and support OHIO's brand and tone and include personalization to the recipient. Review and edit work of others to ensure consistency, accuracy, and alignment with University's and departments' communication and marketing standards. Conduct multi-step QC to ensure accuracy in content and recipient attributes.Communications Planning, Template Development, and Cadence. Collaborate with OHIO Online functional leadership and Division of Enrollment Management staff to establish a consistent, predictable communications cadence and semesterly calendar for each communication type and audience. Develop standard communication templates to be used for individual and list communications. Effectively leverage available technology tools in Technolutions Slate such as liquid markup to facilitate efficiency and personalization. Develop and maintain mechanisms of internal communication for sharing enrollment information with key academic and student support stakeholders within the campus community. Manages the development and implementation of enrollment communication for an assigned set of academic, administrative, or other partners. In collaboration with UCM communication specialists, Division of Enrollment Management staff, faculty, deans, assistant deans, and university staff, develop enrollment communication strategies. Advise academic and support units regarding recruiting efforts and communication strategies, ensuring high-quality, targeted, consistent efforts that link individual department needs and goals with the overall mission and goals of the University. Prepare and maintain regular reporting to academic unit and student services clients on prospect, inquiry, applicant, and admit pool recruitment and yield communications. Counsel and provide recommendations to other communication staff and academic unit personnel on best practices and procedures as they pertain to electronic communication, in addition to ensuring compliance with associated regulations and policies.Unit Support. Monitor, evaluate, and report on communication effectiveness. Provide counsel to key stakeholders to enhance communications effectiveness using metrics such as open rate, clickthrough rate. Provide routine reporting and assessment of communication effectiveness to unit leadership, continuously evaluating opportunities to enhance impact. Other projects and duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Journalism or other related fieldMinimum of 3 years of related experience*An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered

Pay Rate

The target salary range is $44,592 to $51,838 commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.
