Position Summary Information

Primary Purpose

The Coordinator of Marketing and Fan Engagement will oversee several fan engagement elements, including organizing and implementing an interactive social media strategy for Pacific Athletics and video board visibility content. Duties also include oversight and management of promotional activities/campaigns for several identified sports fan engagement activities with campus partners. Manages Gameday Marketing Team to ensure successful execution of in-game elements.

Essential FunctionsServes as liaison between the athletics department, the University community and external constituencies.Develop and manage the athletics social media strategy for all channels with direct oversight of the primary Athletics accounts.Develop metrics and use analytics to assess the effectiveness of digital media efforts.Work in tandem with Creative Content Coordinator to conduct media days, videography, graphic design, etc.Identify, develop and manage marketing initiatives to enhance attendance and fan engagement at athletic events and student attendance initiatives.Manages game promotions across selected sports.Oversees event logistics and fan engagement activities, including sponsor contract agreement obligations, video board content and developing game scripts.Assist in media coordination efforts for conference and national sporting events hosted by PacificDevelop and supervise student and part-time staff, including Gameday Marketing team. Mentor staff on use of social media to accomplish defined objectives.Maintain a close and effective working relationship between Marketing/Communications team and coaches and other staff personnel with Athletics by establishing priorities for completion of tasks in various areas.Perform other duties as assigned or requested.University of the Pacific recognizes that diversity, equity, and inclusion is foundational to the success of our valued students and employees. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in marketing, communications, advertising or related field.One (1) year of experience developing successful promotional campaigns.Experience in athletics or sports environment.Preferred Qualifications

Understanding of print production and visual presentation of written information.Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, both internally and externally.Strong organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Experience with oversight and management of personnel.Working knowledge of various social media outlets.Proficient in working with MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and related software used in production of marketing materials.Positive attitude.Knowledge of NCAA and conference rules and regulations.Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.

Work Environment/Work Week/Travel:Work performed in standard office or athletic venues. Work required during non-standard business hours also requires evenings and weekends. Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment with use of a computer and phone. Work is also performed in sports facilities. Travel is required for some external events and competitions.

Valid driver's license required. Incumbent must be able to meet the University's fleet rules and be eligible to drive for University business. The University and its insurance carrier reserves the right to exclude applicants based on their driving record.

Hiring Range$18.09 - $23.96 per hour. We consider factors such as, but not limited to, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's qualifications, internal equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
