Their work will impact and change future generations! Girl Scouts of Central California South (GSCCS) is looking for a dynamic Part-Time Marketing Generalist to join our team in Bakersfield, CA!

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Generalist's primary responsibility at Girl Scouts of Central California South is to assist the Marketing and Communications Development department in building brand identity and promoting the council's services and products throughout the Central Valley. Those efforts are done by, but not limited to: social media content creation, planning, social media platform management, graphic design, email marketing, and website editing to deliver impactful content through various channels both internally and externally.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Digital MarketingCreate content for social media (Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn) and e-newsletters; assisting with photography, graphic design as needed.Engage with our social media communities to provide excellent customer service and encourage and maximize participation.Advertising

Create and manage content for the council website in coordination with the other departmentsResearch and gather stories and news for the council's website, press releases and other communications.Design marketing collateral for the council such as flyers, postcards, brochures, etc. for purposes such as recruitment, retention and programming.Communications

Become an expert of Sales Force Marketing Cloud to strengthen council communications and utilize council technologies to the fullest.Manage media relations activities, including identification of news opportunities and feature story ideas, writing news releases/media advisories, pitching to targeted media, responding to media calls, etc.Assist in creating PowerPoint presentations, video communications, and event programs for council events and initiatives.Other

Attend occasional evening and weekend events, as needed to capture photographs and video that will be used in communications.Other duties as assigned.SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid California state driver's license.Bachelor's degree in graphic design, PR, communications or equivalent requiredBilingual is a plus.ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Clearance of background check.Become a registered member of GSUSA and GSCCS.Access to reliable transportation.SELECTIVE ABILITIES & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The incumbent must be able to perform the following qualifications in order to be offered and/or maintain employment in this position.

Physical ability to frequently stop, kneel, bend, crouch, and reach overhead.Use of light force to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects up to 20 pounds, frequent weekends and evenings/nights.This position requires the ability to remain stationary and to use computer monitor, keyboard and mouse for extended periods of time.Willingness and ability to work flexible scheduleFrequent weekends and eveningsMust be able to speak and communicate clearly, such as in public speaking engagements.Other demands, as determined by council.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The employee will work in an office environment and in close quarters with other staff and clients. The noise level in the work environment varies from moderate to loud; hectic situations can occur characteristic to working with infants, toddlers and parents in need. Exposure to odors such and scents are common. Occasional exposure to adverse environmental conditions may occur.

$21.00 per hour
