High-level responsibilities milestones include:

You'll be working on website designs for various clients, you will be continuously provided space and opportunities to learn new ideas and push your creativity forward. Rather than one focusing on only one brand with one message, you will be tasked with jumping between different projects, different clients, and different goals-discovering new skills along the way.

You will be charged with creating a cohesive, powerful, brand across multiple platforms and mediums.

Tactical responsibilities, typical day stuff:

You will usually work on each project all the way through, from strategy to delivery. This allows for ownership, creative control, and a recurring sense of accomplishment.Plan website design strategy in close partnership with Project Managers & SEO Managers.Detail out page designs; plan navigation/architecture; curate client-provided images; plan user experience; identify best ways to organize client's services/products.Design websites (usually on Squarespace) using industry standard graphic design principles,Then push design concepts outside of what's expected; discover new ways of using existing website design platform features combined with customizations; use graphic design software (Adobe Suite and Canva) to create backgrounds, images; edit videos for banners and other website placements; pay attention to the details like buttons, links, and the small stuff; surprise yourself and our clients with designs that are on-brand and emotion-provoking.Support social media managers with social-first short-form videos and graphics that are unique to the client's brand and messaging.Update websites based on scope requirements, aligned to the overall website theme. This isn't a client facing role, you will be working with internal project managers who will liaison with you and the clients on sharing needs and feedback, along with timelines. This role is for those that can handle constructive criticism gracefully and not take feedback personally. When given feedback you disagree with, we will look to you to offer rebuttals and stand your ground, however it's a client-first environment, so sometimes we lose a battle or two. This means identifying ways to make sure you feel amazing and proud of every piece of design you submit.Manage a busy, fast-paced deliverable schedule, delivering high-quality, on-scope creative, on time. Use slack and zoom to chat with internal team members, and asana to manage projects and tasks, meeting deadlines and responding quickly (within reason).A willingness and desire to learn new things. We serve a very specific client niche, and you will be expected to dive into that industry, understanding how the purchases make decisions in a digital environment, research and understand high-performing creative in that exact industry, and understand the services our clients provide their customers, so that you can produce creative that delivers and connects with the target persona.Be incredibly detail-oriented. We believe the details in a piece of creative make the difference between good and great. We are looking for someone who is naturally detail-focused. You notice and care about the small stuff. But you also know that there is not endless time to notice those details, so a balance of speed and quality is essential.Push the creative design boundaries by challenging other designers, as well as yourself, to merge branding, uniqueness, while balancing basic graphic design principles. To feel great about the job you're doing, you'll want to be experienced in the following:

Advanced knowledge of Adobe Suite and Canva.Actual client experience designing websites on Squarespace (necessary) and Wix (nice to have). You must know the Squarespace platform inside-out.Knowledge of HTML, CSS, basic JavaScript, and the custom code features on Squarespace. A large number of the websites you will produce will have some element of custom code. We do not reinvent the wheel, so whenever possible we will be leveraging already written code snippets from libraries, but you must be comfortable sourcing, understanding , and implementing this code in a Squarespace environment.Proactively researching, be inspired by, and implementing design trends.Track record of producing designs that meet basic design principles (eg consideration white space, margins, font combinations, design grids, etc).Understanding the scale of differing creative tasks, and allocating time accordingly is an essential skill. For example, a short-form video edit for social media is a quick, more raw creative process that doesn't warrant hours and hours of work. Whereas the creative development for a point of sale brochure of a website requires a detail-oriented, polished approach.Short-form video editing experience could be useful but not knowing it is not a deal breaker (this is basic video editing - not required in Adobe Premiere and/or After Effects.) This is basic splicing, transitions, curating already shot professional footage, text overlays, etc-producing social-first video content that is on-message and on-brand. Much of this is produced in Canva in a fast-paced environment.Measurement/Areas of success (how do you know you're doing an amazing job?):
