POSITION SUMMARY:

The Civil/Structural Designer MANAGER for this position will be responsible for civil and structural design deliverables of concurrent projects from concept design through to the successful completion of various drawing issuances and submission of final project as-built drawings. This position will be directing and mentoring 2 to 3 other designers who are newer to the industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Prepare detailed drawings of parts and assemblies from layouts, designs and working drawings including necessary projections, sectional views and standard specifications.

Interpret verbal or written direction to initiate a preliminary design

Check and verify accuracy of drawings prepared by others.

Analyze the effect of proposed changes for proper fit and/or interference problems and recommend possible solutions or alternate construction options.

Generate 3D models of foundation and structural steel scope deliverables utilizing

CADWorx Structure 2018 or later versions

Ability to independently create 3D models and detailed engineering drawings from concept sketches and design calculations

Assist Engineers in reviewing shop fabrication steel drawings

Proficient in Navisworks software for design reviews

Site development drawings such as grading plans, drainage plans, erosion control plans, fencing plans. Driveway and access road details.

o Concrete detail and location plan drawings of support foundations for various piping

arrangements and equipments

Structural detail and location plan drawings of equipment skids, platforms, pipe rack and cable trays

Review of third-party vendor drawings to ensure compatibility with intended design

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or GED required.

Associates Degree from a Technical Institution preferred.

Minimum of 7+ years of experience preferred.

AutoCAD software experience required.

CADWorx software experience preferred.

Field experience required.

Experience in offshore oil & gas platforms, onshore gas processing, or refining industry required.

Small project lead experience required.

Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Ability to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea.

Ability to make decisions or take actions to solve a problem or reach a goal.

Ability to accept responsibility and account for his/her actions.

Ability to read and understand drawing markups to determine drafting requirements.

Ability to utilize conventional drafting tools and CAD software to execute drafting

requirements.

Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
